  • I quite like him. Take his opinion with a large dose of salt but his columns and opinions on podcasts etc are at least decisive - much prefer that to someone who is constantly sitting on the fence

He is a decisively unprofitable ‘professional’ tipster

It wasn’t meant like that, Delsie. Not meant to be a character assassination. I used to find him alright and worth listening to/reading. I don’t know what’s happened to him in the last few years. I find it a bit sad. That was what I was trying to get across...albeit clearly badly!!

His arrogance, which cannot be backed up by his pts return, just bugs me.

In fairness, I don't find him that arrogant. I think he comes across worse when on a podcast with that Darren lad, as I get the impression they're not that fond of one another, lol.

He admitted that he needed to review his own approach at betting, as he was obviously going about things wrong presently, and things had changed in the last few years.

I recall hearing he's not a punter punter, like Kealy. Onlys bets small amounts, so obviously isn't going to be making a living from backing and overlaying his picks.

I was surprised to hear he doesn't watch the racing live, but then again I have no kids, and other than a couple trips to the states every year, I'm a boring fucker, too

That sums it up my thoughts well, too. Maybe I'm just too mellow now that I'm almost 40

            • He's the type of kid would have got hit on head with a ruler at my school, on a daily basis.
Some would have used the edge.

I'd have flat blade slapped him with a classic 80's Shatterproof ruler.
Just enough so he knew I was there.

              • Berkshire royal looks like he's going to run. 100/1 massive price for a mullins horse thats working well, despite his lack of jumping experience.

                • I think the criticism has gotten a little cruel
Just because hes in the public racing domain doesnt mean hes there to be shot at. He comes across as a decent enough fella on the podcasts. Fair enough his tipping has gone to pot, but who knows of thats had a real negative effect on his mental state or not. In the current Be Kind climate, I think its always best to keep negative and personal feelings about others to yourself

Fair enough. I was intending to be cruel, but if that’s how it’s come across, i’ll amend.

I still think he comes as arrogant and very dismissive of others, not a “decent bloke” though.

No one's been nasty I reckon.
                            Bit of speculation.
                            And comparisons.
And he does come across like a Caricature and is prone to making broad baseless statements (like nothing that ran at Dublin festival will win at cheltenham) that just annoys people like me.
Although I share his dislike for Darren from paddy power as he'd get the classic stainless steel (edge) all day long.

He is a losing tipster in a newspaper that is entirely funded by bookmaker advertising. What about the mental state of bettors being told this guy is the bollocks when his tips lose and they don't tell punters that?

And he's doing it for money.

                                Stinks imo
