That was when one of the guys who is an owner said about some of GE horses having runny noses.
It's a hectic schedule for top Irish stables from Royal Bond meeting through Leopardstown/Limerick meets 4weeks.
Then DRF 4 weeks and 5 weeks to Cheltenham.
They have to give their horses the flu jab in between. If Archie is about he might know when the big stables schedule that. So yeah I am convinced that some of Gordons stars were under the weather without showing symptoms at home.

    Value
To me Fury Road at nearly twice the odds he was in Jan.
May have been under the weather
Still ran respectably beaten just over 5l by Latest Exhibition.
The ground on both days was officially yielding but Saturdays going was definitely on the good side. Sundays racing was 10seconds slower than Saturdays as a result of (over)watering.
FR definitely wants slower ground and a bigger test of stamina.
I've never once really heard this used as an excuse in Ireland for a performance, yet in England it's well documented. Seems weird, maybe i'm mad, but can't they do it early Autumn?

    • That's why I asked for Archies advice. Maybe they have to do it early in new year.
I am amazed there was no stewards inquiry into BOD's running

From being in Supreme myself, i'd say he won't have known either tbh......information from them was next to nothing.

They did have like 5 000 000 members in the end haha.

To be honest, I think you've got that implication wrong. It was proper yielding on the Saturday and much softer on the Sunday.

As far as flu jabs are concerned, I believe that the rule is now 'no more than 9 months before the race'. In those circumstances it would be sensible to do the winter horses in September/October to see out the season but I've no specific information about Willie procedures.

          • Fly smart was 33/1 for this with pp about a week ago, he's now 20s? He's hardly going to travel without a run? Just posting because some people seem to think pp might be in the know when it comes to mullins horses and I cant think why else he'd be cut

I think he was cut because they went Non Runner Money Back?

                    • As a fan of Master Debonair, I'm hoping he beats Sporting John today.

Not sure whether to play Sporting John at 16/1 NRNB for this race, before it happens.

If he beats a horse I'm quite keen on, I'd want him onside.... if he gets beaten he's unlikely to come here and perhaps it makes Chantry House's target a little unclearer again?

The perfect scenario for me is Master Debonair wins, Sporting John looks like a step up would help so Chantry House and Master Debonair come here....

So the NRNB on Sporting John Supreme makes some sense?

Think what faint hope I had left is now gone after it was called off

                        • Hoping Master Debonair does the business today as have him covered for the Supreme.

Will likely cash out if he doesn't.

Totally agree with this as SJ goes as JP selected if besting MD over 2m I’d guess...

                              • If racing is on today it will be simply referred to "Sporting John Day", well at least in my house if he bolts up. Master Deb will be a tough nut to crack though.
