  • Spoilt for choice is GE... If Malone Rd is indeed injured, Abra goes Here and EAllen Ballymore as originally thought ?
    Makes sense

    • I don't think there is any way at all Envoi Allen doesn't go for the Ballymore.

There is some mad obsession at trying to re-route a horse from the Ballymore to the Supreme... can anybody explain it to me?

Taking the specific horses out of the equation.... if Horse X is your best horse, and the race you think is best for Horse X is Ballymore, then Horse X runs in the Ballymore.

The rest slot it around whatever your BEST horse is, in it's BEST race.

      Over complicating things.

            I agree.
However, the route to cheltenham in March is the only route we know that most of these horses are on.
Who decided/said he was definitely routed towards the ballymore anyway.
and you can't say the market as that's not human.

I think ground plays a part with this, we've had some deep ground in recent years and connections become concerned about a slog over 2m 5f knowing that the Supreme will always be run at breakneck pace so even the 2 milers need stamina.
In an ideal world the ground will be good to soft with some soft places so most horses won't be inconvenienced by the ground and their targets will be known some way out....

I don’t think the Ballymore has ever been decided upon?

Who decided that the route was definitely the Ballymore Kev?

And the more they keep winning at 2 miles, beating other horses at 2 miles , the harder it is to change it up.
It's what you know vs what you don't know. That age old question.

                    • Okay remove Ballymore with "Race Y"

My comment is about why you'd move from Ballymore to Supreme.

Take the specific horse out of it.

I thought I'd made that clear

If you think Envoi Allen is best suited to the Supreme, back him for that... my point is he isn't moving because of other horses.... other horses are more likely to move for him.... (and that is only if he continues to live up to the hype)

                        • Sorry to say Malone has to be injured. EA smashed for Supreme and Shawshank smashed for Ballymore. Enough said. Think they were for today's racing before announcing Malone out. Cheeky gits.

Interesting on Malone Road push out to 14/1, probably means that they haven’t seen much cash flowing their way for the race. They didn’t need to take that big a push out, and it will be interesting to see if they are forced to cut Malone Road back in by weight of support.

I’m inclined to back Envoi Allen (FR) for the Supreme, where french breds have a good record, and Andy Dufresne (IRE) for the Ballymore where Irish breds tend to dominate and french breds have no win in at least ten years. It will only take until early Sunday afternoon to tell me how wrong this may be!
