Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • Aba wins this in my opinion. He's only as long as he is because he hasn't been out this year and he's EAs stablemate.

    Fast time in 2nd to EA in a grade 1. Won the grade 1 at Christmas with minimal effort and also won a grade 3 easily.

    He should be the favourite for this on form and visually, he's just as impressive as Shishkin.

    • ....in this mornings RP, Mullins says;

      Asterion Forlonge has shown “he has plenty of speed and the class to go for the Supreme”.

      “The Supreme rather than the Ballymore looks the race for” Elixir D’Ainay.

      • Am I right in think Russell rides Aba? Assuming EA goes Ballymore.

          Totally agree DS - his form is rock solid and he is defo the one to beat. He maybe doesn't have the star appeal of Shishkin or AF but he's certainly the best value of the market leaders at current prices. Davy Russell has never ridden him but I'd love to see him on board - what a way to kick off the Festival!

          I live 20 miles from the track and there is no way the ground's going to be soft on Tuesday. It's been drying out for over a week now and the Beeb's latest weather forecast for Cheltenham is down-playing the amount of rain we'll get. It's dry today, light showers tomorrow, light rain on Monday and dry Tuesday. But it's also going to be breezy from now until Thursday evening - and the wind plus slightly warmer temperatures will minimise the effects of any rain we might get.

          I reckon it'll start good to soft (possibly with a soft in places tag) and ride dead.

                      No, they changed that rule a couple of years back.

                      Only 1 entry... unless balloted out/miss cut

                          No, once declared at 48hr stage, that's the race..

                            Thanks Q. I reckoned it was Sunday but began to wonder if that might be a ‘non working day’ decs wise, so to speak. The tension is mounting, but thank the Lord for NRNB!

                              • I think most people would agree that Aba has the most natural speed in the race. Yes he has been running on soft / heavy ground over the winter but the races he's won have been small fields with not the strongest of paces. He beat a solid horse in Latest Exhibtion at Navan but LE was crying out for a trip and then he was able to use his turn of foot off a moderate pace LTO at Leopardstown. The 2nd was comfortably beat at Thurles NTO.

                                My concern would be that his pace could be nullified off a strong pace, much like Envoi Allen did to him. It's all well and good running on heavy ground when races are not run at a Championship speed, but Tuesday will be very very different.
