        • Just been thinking about the situation with owners having 2 market leaders me personally would have Shishkin heading supreme and have a willie do a Aiden O’Brien tactics to get envoi Allen beat AF & the big getaway up with the pace at least that way could come up with a plan to make life difficult for him. Can’t wait to win the euro millions and have these problems

Shiskin has done absolutely nothing yet, he needs to bolt up in the Sydney banks To even warrant him being near favouritism.

Asterion forlonge looks nailed on to go here regardless of what shiskin does.

            • Does anyone know if Thebannerkingrebel will run in the Betfair Hurdle? He looks pretty unexposed for both that race and the Supreme IMO. Has improved a lot for a Hurdle and may well have won that Haydock trial were it not for being hampered...and he was carrying 5lbs more than Edwardstone that day. Should like the soft ground at Newbury too.

              • Probably best to park the Donnelly runners options until Shishkin has ran again on Thursday, and then we will get a proper view of who may be the best option for the owner for each race.

It’s a Listed race, so it won’t attach the big ratings of a Grade 1, but visually we will be able to assess his speed and stamina. Looking forward to it.

It was clear on Sunday’s interview post-race that WPM had overlooked that the owner had Shishkin for the Supreme.

What difference does shiskin make at all?

The owner has the big getaway in the ballymore.
It Makes no difference what so ever. He'll be double handed either way.

Asterion forlonge achieved a whole lot more than shiskin has, or can do on his next start.

Asterion forlonge is priced like he runs in the supreme. And ran like he runs in the supreme.

Sure he mentioned it in one of the interviews, and said the owners had the other horse and they could 'chat it out', if I remember his phrasing correctly.

Yes I watched that. I think Shishkin and AF may battle it out here, unless WPM wants to move AF to the Ballymore and The Big Getaway to the Bartlett. IMO the only chance of that is if the ground is Good to Soft.

                        • If you had to back either Asterion Forlonge at 5/1 NRNB, or Shishkin at 4/1 NRNB - and you pick the latter, then we are watching different sports.

I actually think there is a bit of an over reaction to the Asterion Forlonge win though - I'd have Mt Leinster any where near good enough to win a Supreme (he's now 1 from 8 for Willie?) and although Easywork was ahead of him twice, so it gives the form a 'solid' look, Easywork basically beat Discorama and Unexcepted over 2 miles (which hasn't been franked at all).... so what has Asterion Forlonge actually done?

Beaten two horses that wouldn't get near placing in a Supreme?

I totally get why he's popular, I just wasn't as blown away as some seem to be....

Relative to Shishkin though, he's the better bet by a long way.

He has proved more in two runs than Shishkins one, that's usually the way of the world, particularly when one is a Grade 1. Absolutely AF has done more, and he will be rated higher than Shishkin regardless of the Sidney Banks race. Be great if they both ran here.

                            • Both over hyped / over rated.

Willie will be so lucky to get another Champange Fever type of result.

He doesn't have the jockey in the bag to get the job done.

                              Lay both

I agree with all of that. I think theres been an overreaction on both which reinforces the lack of market depth
