  • Would be pretty confident the Abra drift is related to him not running at the weekend

where from the betting does it tell you Envoi Allen is back in the picture for the supreme?

      • Very worried about the Aba drift. Could be an a antepost ruiner if envoi shifts course as a result. I could well be panicking early

        • Yh Aba is in most of my multiples that were looking good at this stage. Managed to avoid most of the high profile non runners so far, so must be due a hit.

In retrospect I should have phrased it differently and said
From the betting it looks to me that Aba has a problem. Envoi Allen could be back in the picture for the Supreme.
I still think it is important to try and get a view out quickly even if phrased badly
Probably cost myself a couple of points haha, serve me right (but you never know)

if anything though it looks like easywork is going to be their supreme horse and EA no change? This of course is if theres actually anything wrong with Aba and it could purely just be the fact he won't be running this weekend.

              • Are the novice hurdles suspended on the exchange because entries are out tomorrow?

                Also saw this on Twitter.....

At 10.19am this morning PP cut Envoi Allen from 6's to 5/2, one hit for Chanelle Pharma Novice Hurdle (2m) Abracadabras 13/8 out to 7/4

Yes, the Exchange suspends on Tuesday when the trainers send in their entries. Fixed Odds bookies carry on betting.

No - he’s got Sporting John for that.

                      • I don't think either Envoi Allen or Abacadabras will run. Participation will create too many problems for Elliott.

Does Chris Jones have a first retainer on Davy Russell?

                        • No chance Envoi Allen comes here, IMO, although can't believe we are going round this for about the 7th time this season

You don't move your best horse (Envoi Allen) from it's target because your second best horse (Abacadabras) is out or has a problem (just guessing, given the drift), you move the next best horse for the job to the race, in this instance I'd suspect that be Easywork.

                          • If Elliot pulls a genuine switchero here, he deserves pelters, imo. Trainers need to remember this game only exists because of punters. They need to stay on the punters’ side not be completely changing plans so only the bookies win.

It's being talked about because not everyone backed the horse for the Ballymore based on his bumper runs. He has looked anything but a Ballymore horse this season and his target from the moment he bolted up (and looked a much quicker model) at Down Royal shouldn't have been anything other than the Supreme. You don't set a target last season and then not adapt to more recent evidence, or at least you shouldn't. Those who have supported him for the Ballymore have been very fortunate to have Elliott on their side.

                              • Kinloch, that view would be fine if Elliot hadn’t spent the whole winter saying EA would be stepped up in trip (and duly doing so). Having said and done that, he’s made a rod for his own back.
