Whoever flagged up the quillixos ante post price for this when it was 13/2 a few weeks back deserves a pat on the back

A lot of deadwood value wise in these prices but one that does catch my eye is Gaillard to win the 2m6f novice hurdle and the Ballymore at 16s.
It's currently getting backed in for tomorrow from its price after yesterdays decs from 5/2 to 3.0 on Betfair.
To gain from taking the 16's as opposed to backing it separately you will need it to be 9/2 for the Ballymore or shorter. It's such a strong field that I can see it around 7/2 for the Ballymore if winning nicely enough tomorrow.
Small margins perhaps but it's quite possible that the money will continue to come for it tomorrow and for those that don't have the horse in their Ballymore team yet, it's a decent enough way for getting him in.

He's been backed like they expect a lot, but for a horse that is a bit keen to win that race against some proper future sloggers will be very impressive.
The number of potential challengers and the heavy ground and likely pace makes him look very short for tomorrow IMO.
Looks much more a trial for the bartlett than the Ballymore.
Having backed Gaillard for the ballymore I'd be happy with a decent showing, even if he gets done on the run in, by a nutcase that will run till it's heart packs up.

I get the felling that connections think they have a proper horse with this one and the market support for tomorrow in such a deep race is telling. Agreed that the trip is a slight worry and the application of a first time hood doesn't exactly encourage you with the extra distance but I'm hoping it can settle mid div and then pass the stayers with the minimum of fuss at the end.
If you already have it locked away for the Ballymore then fine but for late comers I think the 16s is a touch of value.
