He was beaten in a grade 2 getting lumps of weight, then won a handicap?

He certainly wasn't at the level he'd need to be to beat Min.

This year, it's easier in hindsight to say he was graded class as his win over CPS got franked (as he beat Min).

They're the right two at the top of the market, but I'd have them the other way around.

To be fair calling him a handicapper last year is a bit much, fair enough

    • Would any horse in there novice year be at the level needed to beat Min though?

        No, of course not.

Some people are using last year's handicap win as proof he's a graded performer.

This year his first run was disappointing and you CAN pick holes in the win at Christmas as Ordinary World was too close and CPS "clearly?" Underperformed.....

        • I think the market has it right with those 2 at the top of the market but you can Definitely pick holes in both if you fancied something at a bigger price.

The only one at bigger prices would be dynamite dollars, 20s nrnb or 33s with a punt...cant see him sending it CC route.

I think Nicholls said he ran great off such a long break to be that close to Altior and they'd give it another crack?

Aso placed last year and is 33/1 again ... fair?

              • Nicholls confirmed the other day that Dynamite Dollars goes for the Champion Chase.

Frodon is more than fair at 6's. You know exactly what you're going to get from him - he'll bounce out and he'll see the trip out doing just that.

Sub Lieutenant was ridden to distract him last year and it made sod all difference. Min will surely be ridden to come late - I'd fear for him if they went head to head out front.

Looking at what's left in, this could be one that cuts up pretty badly too, so 33/1 about Aso is a good price.

                • Well - that's odd. Just been looking through races on Oddschecker and there's a fair amount of blue for Chacun Pour Soi for this, including with Paddy Power.

Had a quick google and can't see anything reported news wise. Strange.

Don’t panic, since PP has moved to NRNB they alone are not so informative, better to look at sister company BFSB who are not NRNB, they are 20s best price, enough said. Other cuts with BetVictor also NRNB and then the joke outfits so nothing to be concerned about

The Ryanair is the much 'easier' of the two races. I would royally pissed off but not shocked if he switched

                      • As Rhinestone has said nothing to see here. Just bookies covering themselves when going NRNB.
