Surely Cyrname at 7/1 8/1 nrnb is one of the best bets around antepost? I know Nicholls has been adamant its unlikely to run, but if Ascot gets called off tomorrow then it would make it a bigger possibility the horse takes its chance in this race?

What odds would people make Cyrname against this field? It's gotta be shorter than a plus tard ? 9/4 fav possibly?
I thought the same so had a bit at 9/1 NRNB with Sky the other night as happy to tie up the funds, with the 95% expectation that it won't turn up.

I first backed Cyrname in a novice chase at Newbury in December 2017 (beaten by Bigmartre giving it 2lbs !!) and at the time made the mental note to back it the next time it went right handed. So when it pitched up at Kempton a few weeks later I had a bigger bet and it was one of those occasions where it felt nice to be right for once....

It then won another couple of races at Kempton and Sandown (didn't play at the prices it was then in the grade it was in) before going to Aintree, where it ran well enough but didn't look like going left handed suited.

Of course - this is essentially ancient history now and the horse hasn't been l/h since April 2018.

Do I think it will turn up in the Ryanair? In my heart of hearts, no.
If it does turn up, would I expect it to win? Ditto
But - did 9/1 NRNB seem a decent fallback if the unlikely happened? In my book, absolutely...

    • They went too fast in that ground, but you still have to be impressed how Riders went with and disposed of Cyrname.
      hope the fallers are ok.
He may need a rest now.

      • Well played to the guys on the big tickets about riders!

        Yes hope cyrname is ok!

I reckon traffic fluide had him for falling.

        • A sickening fall.

Very good from Riders but may have left his race behind with that performance.

          • Traffic Fluide has done enough to spare my blushes there

When Riders Onthe Storm was looking like crushing Cyrname I thought it was a mega performance.... a couple of furlongs later, I'm confident Cyrname hasn't run to form and therefore I can not worry about Riders at his likely price!

            (If he shortens that is)

            • Traffic Fluide was going to win that; couldn’t have Ridersonthestorm at all

                Was it that good?

Traffic Fluide is not anywhere near being good enough to get placed in a Ryanair is he?

I don't think you can believe Cyrname has run anywhere near his form there before falling?

This is how I see it. Hope Cyrname is OK though.

                      They went too fast. simple.
                      Riders was super impressive.

                        Cyrname below par for me!

                        • Any horse having a hard race today may have a problem for Cheltenham.

                          • Traffic Fluide wasnt put in the race and was ridden to pick up the pieces, which he almost did.

Riders took on Cyrname and they probably started racing too early in hindsight.

He really, really was not super impressive Q.

Did you not watch between two out and 1 out?

No horse is super impressive if they're being caught by Traffic Fluide.

I can see the other side.
But they went too fast, and were probably going to be caught out by a horse who ran more economically.
If you run a 2m 4f race and during the middle of the race go too fast, then you're gonna slow down markedly.
                                It's about efficiency.
Impossible to be certain either way, but that's how I saw it.
