Interesting to see if Magic Saint is declared in the 2m 4f handicap on New Years day.
Been looking on exchange to see if he's available for this or champion chase but he's not listed.
I think his run giving weight to Bun Doran the last time is pretty decent form and shows some improvement.
This horse reminds me a bit of horses like Frodon and ASO that ran in these sort of handicap races of big weights.
The form of which is often underestimated when compared to some of the graded races.
He might not run it now, as he might want to wait for a 2 mile graded race somewhere.
But we'll see.
Think I'll use another skybet freebie on it for the Queen mother seeing as Chacun didn't set the world alight on debut.
One or two of the favs miss the race and he'll be a player.

And as Jack says, the run of St calvados was merit worthy, although he finished alongside 2 other horses so that might be his mark maybe.

Wind OP Sept 19
Learned to settle this year
Much improved course form in last 3 races
and now moved up by 1/2ml in distance for 1st time since moving from France he has probably run his best race ever.
Hopefully Min will go chasing Altiors arse again in QM chase

A forum favourite and definitely one of mine, but it'd need to really cut up for him to have a proper chance here? The handicaps are realistically more his level?
Would love to be wrong on him though

2 mile and wont be going Gold Cup so has only one obvious aim.

Would need the right ground, a great ride on the day and a weak field.
I wouldn't have him as being good enough to get any higher then 162 either with any confidence so I don't think he'll be up to this level.
Again, I'd like to be wrong on him as he's a cracking thing but I just don't think he'll win open class grade 1 chases

Altior muted to be going Kempton this saturday. Last quotes i see from Frodon camp in November was this was their plan too.
No gimme for Altior if they do match up.
Both 14s for here. Whichever wins, has to shorten to probably 8s at best you;d have though.
Frodon previous winner + altior being altior. He probably has scope to shorten even more given Defi is fav and Min etc.
Tempted to take it, with cashout, as they could still go back over 2miles of course.

If Altior can't be Frodon then he'll be retired.
Just a superior horse, his 2nd behind Cyrname is better than any performance Frodon has ever put in, including his Ryanair win.
I can't see Altior running in the Ryanair, when he has a chance at winning a 3rd QMCC.
All Hendo keeps banging on about it how much speed he's still showing... whether he's right or not, we won't know until Wed 14th - when he attempts to win a 3rd QMCC.
NRNB better than 'cashout' for this, as you won't know the right moment to cash out
I'm looking forward to somebody pricing his NRNB Ryanair price wrong though...

Superior horse over the years, but Frodon is a ryanair winner. It wouldn't be a walk in the park for a horse that's showing himself to like to jump safe etc. Frodon will go out and say catch me. He'll probably catch him, but on the figures, he's not streets ahead.
Issue is, they might not price a NRNB before its too late?
I think qmcc probably too, but beating last years ryanair winner would at least make him a decent antepost as long as you've a get out (nrnb or cashout)
