Some horses are speed merchants, some are stayers with great stamina, but plenty horses have a bit of both and fall somewhere along the middle between the two. That's why the Ryanair is one of my favourites, perfect blend of speed and stamina.
Altior has pretty much summed up my thoughts on the race. Surprised so many are against it myself.

2m to 3m2f is simply too big a gap nowadays. Horse races all year at the intermediate trip, so to have the pinnacle of the season without a race at thew same distance would be wrong imo. To make horses step down or up 5f against specialists at that distance would be harsh.

Make it a grade 2 would satisfy me.

Still a festival winner so still counts for everyone who tries, but would encourage perople to go for the actual Championship races.

I see..... I'm perfectly happy to post my Ryanair record for you Pendil?

I can assure you how much I'm up from the race does not change my opinion on whether I'd want it there.

Good luck to you though, 9 posts in and having a pop

If you bothered to post during normal hours you could at least return some fire

              • Completely agree with Altior. Now lets add a 2 1/2 mile open graded hurdle. get rid of 2 mares races soon to be 3 and switch them to April. Make them all grade 1 for paddock value and add Cross Country, NH chase and possibly Fred Winter!

                • Think the value bet in this is A Plus Tard. Trainer says this is his target which is worth a lot. Completely ran away with a competitive looking HCP this year winning with a ton in hand. The trip is spot on and showed a real liking to the course/fences. 20/1 is tremendous Ew value.

No reason to change my mind as yet. The form of that Close Bros hasn't been upheld by the placed horses.

Im very sceptical of all that day one form. Till they prove they can replicate it.

The placed horses were in a different county. Think that APT could be one of those horses that absolutely excel at Cheltenham in the Spring every year.

What would MIN DOUVAN FOOTPAD and DEFI DE SEUIL have done in that race off 145?
