Talking about Douvan’s rating is abit silly really. IMP he would have been the highest rated horse of all time but for the injury. I actually think he’s unexposed at the age of 10 !! A fit and well Douvan is on a completely different stratosphere to these lot. I just hope he turns up on the day......... not for my pocket but to show what a real superstar can do.

It sounds like exactly what I need, I'm currently working them out myself like it's the 1600's and I've just discovered a calculator.

Don't know if anyone cares what Mick Fitz has to say or whether they care about the pace of a race but I found a tweet (on AtTheRaces account) interesting earlier about how slow the Clarence House was run (until about 3 out), and dropped in that WPM wouldn't have been happy with Townend for not making the most of Un De Sceaux's stamina. Turning into a sprint wouldn't have suited UDS by any stretch and would have only showed DDS in better light. The fact Marracudja got so close to UDS tells me enough tbh.

Could have been the 'older' guy, James Hill?
OR the PP Irish fella
Or Maddie?
One of them made the point it was a sprint anyway.... Paul Townend bad ride essentially..... gun to my head, the PP guy said it

He's a tough horse to get a figure on due to the way he races, but he's never ran at a proper grade 1 2m pace. I've been against him the whole time, and will continue to be, til he proves that. The tingle creek and clarence were very poor races imv

To update on a point made earlier, the handicapper has put DDS up 4lb to 170. Arguable but not outrageous.
However, to justify that he's put Marracudja up 11lb to 154. This is his highest rating from running his 25th chase in 3 years and 7lb higher than his previous peak in December 2016. A remarkable training performance!
