For sure there’s no way I’d be backing before Altior anyway as I fully expect him to at least drift somewhere a little bit once Altior wins.

      • If Douvan were to make it to the Festival and go straight for the Champion Chase, as suggested in this latest update, do you think Ricci and Willie would reroute CPS to the Ryanair with Min or stick to the QMCC? If Douvan were to be in top form could they just skip the Festival with CPS? I always thought Douvan would never run at Cheltenham this year, especially after the setback.

        • The fact Mullins hopes are even relying on an injured horse who he says they are taking it week by week coming back to his career best at Cheltenham tells us how much he rates CPS and CE. He clearly rated Un De Sceaux a long way ahead of that pair.

Both CPS and CE promise to be huge disappointments.

Cheers. Would be some story but don't see it myself.

That fella's tool on youtube does all that with one button.

He's not any old injured horse tho, he's the best they've ever trained, both Willie and Patrick have said as much. Personally i'm on Chacun and hoping he shows abit more at the DRF but would love Douvan to come back to his best

                • They did it before with Douvan a few years back and in my opinion would have won but for falling. I’ve said it for a long time now ...... If he turns up on the day, he won’t be there to make the numbers up. He’s a monster and if anywhere near his best, nothing will go the gallop with him.

                  • Defi is potentially an all time great in his prime and is a major issue for the Mullin stable and he has no realistic contender to get close to DDS.

The great man Willie Mullins knows full well he has no horse in the league of Defi The Destroyer..

                    • If willie can get Douvan back to 80-90% fit he will beat Defi 5-6 lengths he’s in a different league and I’ve backed Defi for this!

Douvans career peak rating was 174. I would confidently predict Defis will be higher by the time he has finished. Should be within 4 by tomorrow morning.

So there you go Douvan turns up Defi still has ground to make up. I absolutely love Defi for this he’s definitely the horse to beat but Willie Mullins has a horse or 2 that can put it up to Defi

Douvan is nowhere near his career best? Currently rated 167 in decline and injured.
Defi is the super star of cheltenham 2020 and will achieve 176-180.

There isnt a horse in the division who can get close to him.

Surely this logic applies to Altior too?! Top RPR of 183 an unbeaten over 2m and obstacles. And he’s younger than Douvan!

I reckon Danny Whizzbang would give him a race
