Was his hurdle form pre Cheltenham last year underwhelming ??? He’s been primed for the race in the same manor as last season. I actually think 7/2 is a fair price.

Would you not be worried about his lack of runs didn't de bromhead say he needs races to get him fit.

Minella Indo would be one of my best winners but he needs to improve his jumping for that to happen. In an ideal world I would like to see him try and make all but I am not sure his jumping is sharp enough to allow him to maintain a lead.

Personally think he’s a safe jumper which in this race isn’t a bad thing. I don’t think he’s slow over his fences but he’s defo not fast either. He’ll be ridden prominently just like last year as that’s his running style. He’s my bet of the week with so many question marks against the opposition. He’s shown he has class and clearly stays all day, perfect combo for this race.

Just been back and watched Allaho puking up before the run to the last in last year's AB. How can anyone think he's going to be a factor over 3 miles on the Old Course. Don't think he'd get near Minella and Copperhead if he went here

Again he only had 2 runs leading upto last years race so no it’s no real concern to me.

His chase form is underwhelming. His run in the AB last year over hurdles was very impressive he travelled like a good horse and went up the inside in the straight when most over horses who crossed a similar path went backwards. But that is the only form line that makes him a 7/2 shot and he hasn’t achieved anywhere near that level over fences. That’s not to say he can’t but you can’t tell me on his form over fences he deserves to be 7/2.

I don’t disagree with you. There is no substitute to Cheltenham form. All I’m saying is minella is not a 7/2 shot. He could win but I would want double his price to be backing him.

If I was FORCED to have a bet, starting from scratch, I'd chance Slate House at 20/1 just because he's a grade 1 novice chase winner and they can't all say that...

I’ve only got Minella Indo in this from antepost bets - I think I may just leave it this way, and enjoy it for the the race itself. I can’t really make any decisions at the prices now, and will not be annoyed if any of the above win ahead of Minella. Great spectacle again this year if all line up.
