Looks like Carefully Selected is going NHC so mullins must have a good one for this race.

Options are Faugheen & Allaho. I love Faugheen, but i will always back the younger horse. Allaho ran well over hurdles last year for a young immature horse, and looks to grown considerably with good engine. Im expecting massive improvement on his next run, and after the Flogas im hoping he will be single figures.
Option could also be Next Destination although lack of entries all season for him is a bit worrying.

Sure Willie said he wasnt back in yard and hadn't heard when to expect. would take that as out for pretty much the season.

          • HdB taking the bubble wrap route. I’d have thought the grade 3 at Naas Ballyward won last year would have been ideal after he missed Leopardstown, unless he wants to go back to Navan for the Ten Up before the festival it may be a bit tight between races!

              • Not sure CS would have much of a chance in this. This race is going to take some winning and CS jumping can be described as careful. They will out jump it, far better in NH as it will have a favourites chance.

                • Not sure about that Cooldaddy think people are judging CS a little too quickly on his jumping. Only one mistake in two runs, needs to be given a chance here in the grade 1 for me.

Not sure anyone’s questioning his ability to get from A to B just think he looks a little ponderous for the RSA. Clearly it’s an option but as others have said think the longer distance is tailor made

                    • Yeah i can see him being fine over longer but this is a grade 1 and if he was mine id be trying to win it. His jumping looks fine, ive no big issue, i think that on occasions people are judging novices too harshly when they are learning their trade. Carefully Selected ran to a Top Speed of 123 at the weekend, Im a big fan of Champ (think ive bored you enough about him) but his highest top speed over fences is 109, so im not ready to accept that Carefully Selected wants the extra distance yet. Think he would be absolutely made for the RSA personally.

                      • The next race for Carefully selected will be the decider , stepping up in trip .
I didn't see the race on sunday , but reading the reports , he won nicely.
And lofty talk of being a potential gold cup horse. My moneys down on the r.s.a .
but there has been a lot of talk about the n.h,chs being the aim.

                        • Have backed Allaho at 20's EW.

Very Good Novice hurdle form for a young horse last year. It seem likely CS will go national hunt chase, so mullins must be lining up a good one for this, and my guess is that this will be the target for Faugheen & Allaho.

I think Allaho has a fair engine, and I was really taken with his chasing debut. Expecting massive improvement of fitness on his next run.

                          • Minella Indo is entered into a 3M Beginners Chase at Navan on Saturday. Gives him the option of RSA and NHC at Cheltenham.

Better not consider the NH chase
Not priced up anywhere for that, surely not.
                              Rachel would be furious.
