Tried to dog it didn't he, old Midnight.
Was about to say what a good ride that was from Barry, very positive, then he starts looking through his legs more than once.
Even before the fall he slows down too much into his fences to be winning this; still not keen on Geraghty looking behind for dangers when he’s on such a sketchy jumper though, keep focussed on the fence in front
Not the best from Geraty, you can say what you want about him but you could see he was struggling to make champs mind up coming down to that fence.........forget champ no knowing what to do, Geraty had no idea what to do at that fence
Have to say that was a shocker from Barry G on Champ. 2 looks behind him approaching the second last then gets it all wrong! Horse looks to have an engine though and I wouldn’t be marking him down on that.
Champ was in the middle of putting up a brilliant performance. This might sound silly, but that has enhanced my view of him.
I actually agree.
Geraghty gave him a poor ride, IMO. No need to ask for that at the penultimate. A slower pace over a longer trip where he can afford to take more time at his fences will suit IMO.
I still think he has a good chance in the RSA. Although I think Slate House has an excellent chance if it comes up soft.
Looked like we were going to see a good performance there. His jumping has been the question mark the whole time. Price has always been horrendous because of that, and i'll stand by it.
