Its a bit to soon to say with any conviction. Copperhead still has some way to go but he is getting there and has more to come.
Danny will go to the Reynoldstown at Ascot next I believe. He has the physique and with a grade 2 in the bag and a 3rd in a grade 1 from just 2 chase starts. He is getting that experience now and will be a monster come March.

I got 50 for Dazzling and I would need to see similar for The Captain at this stage.

    Both are horses to follow.

    • There was something about Danny Whizz's run at Kempton that made me keep my bet live on him.
Just think Cheltenham might be his track.
Not sure his getting hampered affected him that much, but the race was just getting going so it wasn;t ideal.
It's not unusual for form to be turned upside down from Kempton to the festival.
      Cashed Tommytucker though.

      • The ability is there its just experience now. 3rd in a grafe 1 on only your 2nd chase start is strong form. We havent even got close to seeing what this horse can do.

Kempton was at its tightest possible configuration for that trip with the rails moved inwards in places. Danny is a big strong old school NH horse. Cheltenham will definitely be much more up his street than Kempton.

          • Gutted about Sam Spinner, whilst I had my doubts if he was quite good enough I had him covered at a big price. Another APB bites the dust. I very nearly posted last night ‘as crap a Christmas betting session I’ve had at least the Out of the Festival thread has been quiet’ but my phone battery died!!

              • Shame about Sam Spinner too, I thought he was a funky little player at 45/1

However I'd rather lose Sam Spinner than plenty of others at this stage.

                • Placed 2nd or 3rd horses in the Kauto Star novice chase have actually gone on to much better things than the winner. Both Bobs Worth and Native River were 3rd in this race before going on to win the gold cup. Topofthegame 2nd in it then won RSA.
I think slate houses 2nd half of the season wont be as good as the 1st half and he will continue the race winners recent (bar coneygree) record at the festival.

                    • I cant wait to lay Champ in the dipper on New Years Day assuming Master Tommytucker, Midnight Shadow and Deyran De Carjack line up.
All three of these should have champs measure here.

                      • Fool!!!!!!! (only joking) But Champ will devour that hill!!! Only thing that I can see beating him is Barry G!!!! 160 performance coming up

                        • Horse is a flat track bully not a chance he can win this race giving every horse 5lb and going up the hill.
Darjan De Carjac was all over Champ last time til the bounce kicked in and he didnt find. He will reverse the form comfortably here.

Maybe they will consider the champion hurdle for Champ after this.

                          • Main thing I'd be looking at from a Champ POV backer is his jumping which has been suspect.

                            • 100/1 for Champ to win Champion hurdle. Mccmanus and Henderson love the champ hurdle why not take it. The race is more like a selling hurdle. Even Champ would get away with the cheltenham hill in that field.

Never know whether you’re joking or not... Champ will destroy them! Champ will win New Year’s Day and take the RSA in March. Looks a proper good horse and will relish the step up in trip.
