QUOTES: I don't think he did a lot when he got to the front, he almost pulled up a little bit when he got there. He's a big chaser, a fine, good-looking horse. With a horse like him, you'd prefer to have the fences in but he couldn't do much more than he did. He wants 3m. I'd imagine Leopardstown at Christmas will be the plan. Gordon Elliott, trainer of BATTLEOVERDOYEN.

5g No Risk At All - Idaho Falls
Cheveley Park Stud

He’s one we’ve been looking forward to going chasing with. He did quite well as a staying novice hurdler last season, winning a Grade 3 and being placed in Grade 1s at the Cheltenham and Punchestown festivals. He’s had a little hold-up – he tore off a shoe and jabbed a foot – but he should be running at some stage next month and we’re hopeful of a good campaign in the top staying novice chases.

7g Well Chosen - Knockamullen Girl
Miss MA Masterson

Because of the unusually dry spell last winter he ran only twice, winning a 2m6f maiden hurdle at Limerick before running third in a Grade 1 over 3m at the Punchestown festival. He won a point-to-point before winning two bumpers and chasing was always going to be his game. He might start off in a 2m5f beginners' chase at Fairyhouse on November 30.

Just watched the race back. I’m happier than I thought with that. Any Second Now is a 150 rated festival winner who ran his race and Battleoverdoyen beat him comfortably. It wasn’t flashy and BOD was given no help with ASN jumping across him and fences being missed out but overall I thought it was a good performance without being anything to get too carried away over. I expect him to get better and fitter with every run and providing he impresses over Xmas, all roads will lead here.

Walk Away is tempting me a little for this. Only in the betting with 365 (50s) and Unibet (66).
Jumped a little untidy throughout but nothing major, probably looked like he'd be better left handed to me. Came swinging when Faugheen lost some ground, but in the end was pushed out to be a good second. Clearly not beating Faugheen at this stage over 2m4. HDB has said he's a proper stayer and that was a reasonably strong beginners on the whole. That's only his 5th start in his life + he's clearly going to need to keep improving to get near here, or even turn up at all, as he didn't go to the festival last year. He has 13Ls to find with Champ probably feels unlikely at this stage, but Aintree was his 3rd race including his point vs Champ's 9.....
If you take Faugheen out of that race and he's now probably being talked a good bit more about. Ifs and buts of course.
One i'll keep my eye on at this stage but he's promising.Last edited by jack1092; 18 November 2019, 07:34 PM.
