Very positive update on Allaho from the Irishracing article today
is a horse I am particularly looking forward to. He is a huge strong galloping horse that any jockey would love to sit on in a novice chase. The whole yard is looking forward to watching him go over fences.

Worth also remembering that Allaho was a 5yo in that potato race, a race that has only yielded 2 5yo winners in its 15 year history....

Nice update regarding Allaho.
Very much taken a view that Minella Indo aaaand Allaho were two above average horses
Took the gamble that he's an RSA horse st 27s as el as the any race prices so house you're right ista, my thinking was and is similar re: target

I would personally have thought a horse with the ability to get within 3.5Ls of Minella Indo with only 2 starts over hurdles would be aimed at a proper G1 like the RSA.
That's my take anyway, but reality is we haven't seen a lot of him over obstacles so still learning!

I’d have concerns Carefully Selected wouldn’t have enough gears to get his nose in front on the old course in the RSA. Hypothetically if you put him in last years race I’m not convinced he’d have had the turn of foot Topofthegame had to put the race to bed!
I know the NHC is ran over the same course but I’d be more confident that’s a race he can definitely win with his running style. Granted he proves he can jump well obviously. Have him covered for both but I’d fancy his chances in the NHC.Last edited by SeanRock; 31 October 2019, 12:31 PM.

Its a real conundrum this race. Could be one of the deepest at the Festival and there are several I really like.
Willie alone has three very exciting staying types in Allaho, Carefully Selected and Next Destination, and all three have the potential to be his first string in another year. I've backed all three for this... Whilst I find it hard to imagine that they will all take each other on if fit and well, it looks the right race for all three so why not?
Its not hard to imagine one of the three going for the Four Miler though, but suppose that will depend on how the season pans out.
