  • Epatante was stuffed at Cheltenham and here she is in the most competitive two mile hurdle race (supposedly ) of the season, and heading the bloody market.

Silly to take one race as a horses form, especially seeing as he is unbeaten in every other race during his career.

BOD has shown enough already that says to me he wasn't right for that one race at the festival previously.

Unless you can prove that he lost the shoe early on and damaged his hoof at that time, it's meaningless. Likewise, if nothing was shown as the reason for not eating up (bad scope/temperature) it means very little because you can't know that it won't happen again.

He doesn't hate the undulations at Cheltenham, he just didn't handle the last time. If you want to back him this time around you have to factor in the question mark about them. However, I don't so it's easy.

Still not getting carried away and would have liked to have seen him take on Minella Indo and Carefully Selected, but he can only beat whats put in front of him and he's racking up wins and experience which is what you want.

I get that some horses just don't do it for people and whilst I love BOD I can appreciate why people have strong opinions against him. That being said, apparently BOD doesn't look like an RSA horse .
I don't have strong opinion against BOD (or for him for that matter). Its just that on todays evidence he didn't look to me like a strong stayer that you need to win an RSA chase. But that's just an opinion

        • I think BoD can be forgiven last years run but obviously will need to be much better at Cheltenham in March. You cant say one bad performance means he hates it there, needs a second chance so we will see.

He went well today, jumped well and found a bit in the run in. He isn't as slow as I thought either like others have said

I just think the horse needs daylight. He got stuck in the middle of the pack at Cheltenham and don’t think he liked it. Look at his other races and he’s always positioned at the front. All depends how big the field is in my opinion, anything over 10 and I think he may struggle

Good point, being ridden prominently is definitely the way to go.

All this nonsense about BOD not liking Cheltenham based on last festival run is mis-informed - even, I have to say, contra to Archie's opinion - something was amiss.
Whether or not he is capable of beating the likes of Champ is another question but I have backed him at 34 on BF but I accept that he will need better ground to stay the extra staying trip.
Champagne Classic is a great value bet in the NH Chase too IMHO and worth an e/w double

                • Nice performance from BOD today. Could see him placing but not quite being good enough to win myself.

Anybody heard any news recently about Next Destination?

He was a huge price on the exchanges when I last looked (300.0+) so I'd assume he is still a bit off being ready to run.

                      • Nobodys pricing up Copperhead for this race but I could see him coming into the picture for this race by March. The NH Chase would also be an option. Looks like there is plenty more to come from 'The Captain' Copperhead.

ask someone to price him up for the NH chase ET.
                          and I'll probably back it.
                          I want 25's plus though

just seen he's 16's with Hills

                          • I saw the 16 from hills for 4miler but I think RSA is just as likely if not more so. I will email one of the fitms and ask what they will give for RSA.

                            • Who wins this then ET?......the captain copperhead or dazzling Danny whizzbang.....dead heat?

                              • Slate House has done very well so far but in previous seasons his form has dropped towards the end of the season and I could see Copperhead being ahead of him by March and Tizzards number 1 here. Could turn out to be be the 2021 gold cup winner.
