    Such a strong stayer.

    Ronald Pump 33-1 PP 1pt.

Think this might go for the four miler, but they would probably only do this if they could book a top amateur. Like when Pauling managed to get laddo this year.
Failing that I think they'll go for this race.
They might not even bother at all.

But on the bare form of the staying novice division in Ireland this horse looks in the top few.
entered at the weekend in a 2m 4f race against some decent types (no idea if he'll run and what else will line up)
The trainer rates him as he says that his win wasn’t a surprise following his run of hurdles wins. He didn’t think he would take up this weekends engagement as it’s a little soon, but he was mulling over paying a Supplementary Entry cost for the Drinmore.
Uncertain as to what his target at Cheltenham would be, but he could easily be considered for any of the JLT-RSA-NHC races.

There is one in Sandown on Friday of Tingle Creek weekend Nicky often sens one too.

I would have backed any race, but not on William Hill. and only 16's elsewhere.
Could easily end up on a good mark for a handicap too. If highly tried and not up to it

        • 33/1 for the RSA for Ronald Pump could look massive after his next run A.

If I were to back him in a specific race it would be the RSA too.

He should get an absolute pasting theoretically 1st time up over the trip

Just like on his hurdles debut. I can see it happening for sure.

                  • Very unlike Willie to not find Laurina a much easier race for Chase debut, she must be working the house down

I actually agree. She had the easier option of the 2m 2f Mares Beginner Chase yesterday that Sinoria won, although how much easier I'm not actually sure, as she is a good mare in her own right.

With MI needing further and likely to need the run according to his trainer, it appears a good start for Laurina. Think the 2 1/2 miles will be perfect for her.

                        • I think with the distance and mares allowance Laurina should have more than enough for him tomorrow.

                          • AP McCoy told the Sporting Life during the week that he thinks*Champ*will be a Gold Cup winner one day, do you agree with AP?

I hope he’s right as he’s quite a good judge but I must admit I haven’t looked that far forward yet. He schooled this morning and the plan is to go to Newbury next weekend which will be the next step up for him and we’ll probably miss the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase (Feltham) at Kempton and head to Cheltenham on New Year’s Day for the Dipper which gives us a little more time in between races.

                            • When’s*Dickie Diver*due to run and do you think he could be better than*Champ?

I’m afraid Dickie Diver won’t be seen any time soon as he picked up a bit of a problem and is very much on the sidelines at the moment so I’m not sure how long it’s going to take. It is extremely disappointing and a real blow but I hope to have him back in full training but when that will be, I simply cannot say.
