I was listening to her race after backing her at 33/1 for the MNH and the cash out value is half the stake as a result. She did sound a very promising mare beforehand but the trainers stats before the race were poor for his horses winning first time out from bumpers but even though she finished second it sounded like an awkward and hard ride for the jockey. I’m sticking with the bet due to the lost value but it was a poor start over hurdles.

    • Missed the rose of Arcadia race the other week was she needing a run or just poor

I'd always want to watch the replay before getting other peoples thoughts....but.... you'd be shocked if she didn't improve on it, but she was beaten too easily to be a super star.

Think most have cashed out so that probably tells the story.

She started too enthusiastically and faded quickly with a few furlongs too go. Disappointing but so many of the seasonal debuts have been so probably best to give them another run before cashing out or leaving them alone.

            • Just plopped another 2 PTS on Shewearsitwell @ 8/1. Watched all her races back last night and she gets better and better. She is a brute of Mare and looks as hard as nails. If she does take on and beat the boys in the Royal Bond she'll go very short for this. I know we are waiting for Mullins to unleash another Mare to continue his winning run in the race but perhaps he already has.

Can you remember what price Airlie Beach was after winning the RB?

                • This race is starting to do my head in too many unknowns I get a little carried away some years with this race and the triumph trying to be disciplined and stick to known horses and targets the big races where you can be guaranteed they are going to run! Rant over

Do you still not have a diary Lobos ?
I could be wrong but you seem to dive into a few single figured priced horses, which so far out can't pay can it ?
I was looking back at last season festival and most of the single figure priced winners were in handicaps so not quoted 6+ months out, bar Al Boum Photo I can't think of any winner who would have been single figures at this stage, possibly Concertista...

                    • Just for clarity Lobos this is genuine question with no malice intended whatsoever, I just read my post back and realised it could be interpreted this way, this is certainly not the case.
I'm actually hoping your approach proves me wrong so I can re-visit my strategy...

Very rare I dive into anything less than 20's AP. When I do it's because I see them as the winner even this far out. Not put a diary up. Tried the other week but failed miserably and it's gone beyond a point now that I can be bothered to put them up manually. Happy to share bets for any race that anyone requests. Clearly done a hell of a lot TWAR but still have at least 50 singles and doubles on targeted races. I'll do one next season so that everyone can see where I go wrong!!

I'd tread carefully Lobos. Aside from EDS (who we first saw in August and was a bit of an anomaly), we first saw Concertista in November, Let’s Dance in December, Laurina in December, and Limini in January. WPM doesn't tend to bring the really good ones out till later in the season. Aside from all the things that could go wrong between Oct-Mar, you then have some very promising 'could be anything' (GI)types towards the top of the market, plus the horses we don't know about yet. All of that would put me off single figures at this stage

No idea. I can't remember what price a horse was yesterday!!

That's just it though. I don't believe he does/will have one at home better than her which is why I've dived in now. Could be wrong but that's a risk I'm willing to take. To me she looks like everything you could want to see in a Novice Mares winner.

Yeah see that's the worry, she could well win the Royal Bond, looks a rocket. Airlie Beach looked good + won it, but was still beaten in a Mares Novice...
