Thought it was a decent start... I thought he lost ground after being impeded a couple of times, rather than getting outpaced as such. Seemed to jump his fences better than his hurdles in any case and can only get better IMO. Great SP today
An odd update from ruby on Draconien for this 19/20 novices given willies updates
He got injured last season but is schooling away again now and I actually schooled him myself last week. You’re always cautious about horses coming back from injury but he’s a forward going horse who is a good jumper. When you’re jumping fences there’s usually 12 or 13 fences in a two-mile race whereas there’s only eight over hurdles.
Olly on Twitter when asked about running plans: “Warwick next week”
Will likely be the 2m beginners Chase Kalashnikov won last year so. Ground permitting obviously given he doesn’t want to empty the tank too early in the calander in the mud.
Nice start from Summerville Boy there, although looked to get outpaced on soft ground, pace of the Arkle would be a worry.
He did well to win in the end. It's really good to see him get back to winning ways but he was so slow over 2 or 3 fences that I feel he'd be left behind in a strongly run race.
I can't have him winning a grade 1 over fences as things stand.
That Warwick novice chase on Friday TD is being penned in for is a tough starting point I would say, depending which runners line up that are entered of course. Ballymoy who nube negra beat also grand sancy and Southfield stone for Nicholls entered.
Al Dancer is set to return to Cheltenham this month for the Racing Post Arkle Trophy Trial.
The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained six-year-old won four of his five starts over hurdles last season - including a lucrative success in the rescheduled Betfair Hurdle at Ascot.
He was disappointing when sent off joint-favourite for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March, but made a fine start to his career over fences on his seasonal reappearance at Prestbury Park last month.
Twiston-Davies is keen to step the hugely promising grey up in class at his local track on November 17.
"Al Dancer is probably going to go to the next Cheltenham meeting for the Arkle trial," said the Naunton trainer. "There are 23 days between the two races, and he has come out of his last race well, so we are looking to have a go.
"We will give him a longer break between races later on in the season. He jumped well the last day at Cheltenham and he seemed to really enjoy himself."

Very happy with that. Will give me a chance to see just how good he is, and if he improves on his 1st run, against what should be some decent opposition. Then can either cash for money back, or keep. Depending on how he goes.
A win and he'd be a short fav with 2 course and distance wins over fences in good company.

Do you plan to cash out ?
Do you really think he/they can win an arkle ?

On this as well and hoping it puts in a performance. Just have that feeling with Laurina/melon after how good black op and samcro showed recently that it might put Mullins off sending the best one to the JLT and send it here, with better chance of winning.

Too early to consider which way Mullins would split his in terms of avoiding opposition.
Melon has better form than Samcro in the book, do you think Samcro camp will avoid Melon?
You'd be hopeful they'll have to clash in Ireland on the way to Cheltenham

Unlikely they will. Samcro will be at 2 1/2. You'd have to think melon would be going towards the Irish arkle, where as samcro will be going toward the flogas. And laurina messing about in mares company (hope I'm wrong)
