Hello Fat Jockeys,

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • I think Melon is a fair price but he's not a shoe in to place. He has to reverse form with FD and Notebook looks the best of them all so for me Melon has to be better than all the English to place. I'm not saying that he isn't but it's not guaranteed.

    • He'll be 8lbs better off with Fakir so its not hard to see him reversing that form to be fair.

Agree. At the weights he's entitled to be shorter than Fakir. Mullins appears now to have committed him to the Arkle which is good news. We know he loves Cheltenham and will appreciate better ground so he has to be near the top of any list for this race.

        • Watched Melons race back again and thought that he travelled really well and jumped great on the whole apart from the last. He did exceptionally well to get back on a even keel quickly and won cosily at the line. He'll be right in the thick of it again in March.

          • Did anyone catch the post race comments about Melon, did they mention future targets or how they thought he handled the race distance please

He added on plans: "I'd imagine the Arkle is the likely target. He could come back here for the Dublin Racing Festival and will need more experience."
This is the quote added here by Crolwey113...

I was very happy with the way he jumped early on and obviously he made a mistake at the last but what particularly pleased me was the way he fought back when it looked like the game was up. He makes life difficult for himself but he fought back well today. I'd imagine the Arkle is the likely target. He could come back here for the Dublin Racing Festival and will need more experience - Willie Mullins, trainer of Melon

                      • Anyone heard any updates on Laurina after bursting a blood vessel?

I’ve cashed out for what I can for the Arkle, then covered again at 28/1 at paddy power small stakes with power up.

Surely that’s a crazy price, or is there no chance they stick with the Arkle Route anymore?

                        • Great thanks everyone, not sure i love his chances for this but at least sounds like he will give me a chance to get my money back and if he wins he would rescue my book for this race. Ive Notebook onside at 50's so either of them would do. Id almost given up on this race a week ago. Now at least a chance of getting out of the mess ive brought on myself, for trying to find things that werent there!!!

                              • Melon was giving him 8 pounds. How much was notebook giving him? Also jockey lost his irons on fakir against notebook.
