Fakir would be higher up the list if I wasn't concerned he'd be going up in trip. I think he'll be aimed at Arkle until proven not good enough though.

Way too early to be predicting a 1-2-3 but the above are all backed....and it's only fun
14/1, 33/1, 25/1, unbacked. Gonna have to get Notebook in the book aren’t I. 25/1 with B365 seems quite fair (wasn’t as shrewd as those who took 50/1 this week). Quite how Al Dancer & Getaway Trump are shorter in the market il never know. One wants further and other doesn’t jump well enough

Had a torrid time of it in the arkle in recent years, just hoping I can turn a good position now into some sort of result come March. Re Fakir, I was a little concerned about going up but the money that’s followed combined with comments from Ruby and KB thinking Arkle makes me rest a little easier. JOB has unfinished business after last year surely

      It was a lovely post.
But he's not run in it yet.
And he was bang average on his debut.
If you've not watched it, I'd recommend it.
Of the Mullins chasers I've watched so far this season.
Him and Faugheen are both a knuckled on landing waiting to happen.
Like fat kids with skinny legs jumping over privets.

He was no Un De Sceaux on chase debut... but he did still win and at the price he is, history is telling me he's a decent poke this far out (more because of the trainer comments and target)... which ultimately won't be all I'm using when we reach 2020.... but he's a big price and it's not much risk is it?

Despite some issues with Mullins chasers, it's never going to stop me backing them.... and I see Mullins has got rid of that jockey who used to fall off at the last on purpose which can only be a positive.

        That's a joke. #IHeartRuby

If Fakir ends up not being good enough for the Arkle we'll know before the festival, but I doubt his price will be bigger than 25/1 ever again for it...

I love Joseph so much. Youngest ever Breeders Cup winning trainer now to go along with (I imagine youngest) Melbourne Cup, Irish Gold Cup (and festival winning trainer?) - he is absolutely incredible, a shame he'll be concentrating more on the flat going forward.

He'd be giving Gordy a whipping when Willie packed up.

Gordon Elliott is the My Tent Or Yours/Melon of Irish training.

Lol Mr Elliott who has more Grand National wins than Mr Mullins and the same number of GC wins, but the comparison did make me laugh!!!

                  • the novice chase at warwick should be a decent pointer to where the UK novices are at 2 miles.
3 more newbies put to the test, that have potential vs Skelton's that has form with the other lot than ran at cheltenham.
One of these needs to win impressively or it's another nail on the uk 2 milers coffin.

Hopefully Mr Fisher jumps as well as he did in the video I saw.

                    • I’ve backed Mister Fisher, he will be my 12th Arkle bet but at 33’s for this and 50’s for the JLT. I think he’s too a horse to be those prices and maybe the British ‘Notebook’

Are you joking about 12th Arkle bet TKP?

The average field in the last 10 years must be around 6 or 7

                        • Christ, 12!

I hope you have cash out available otherwise I'd feel you are going to be chasing your tail right up until flag fall! It's a dangerous game, I have done it in previous years.

                          • I presume you've got a strategy in place TKP.....

You said you were skint last night yet you've 12 on the Arkle....

                            • I wish it was a joke but no. A cock up on my behalf mainly due to selecting too many TWAR with Hills in September. I need to be more disciplined next season and pick 3 horses per race but on the plus side it looks like I’m guaranteed to win at least 1 race on day 1 as long Laurina doesn’t turn up

But TWAR bets are not race specific? They could still end up elsewhere, or am I missing something?
