Yes, one thing that hadn't passed me by. Might well be why they are thinking another season over hurdles!

I don't feel quite such a muppet now , for taking the 100-1 on Pic D - ch. hdl. cheers Billymag.

I'm not suggesting he can't go on to be a really good horse... I was just highlighting that the reason he had such a big buzz around him for last year was with a view to the Triumph and the edge he had.

He's lost that, so 25/1 any race is fine.. but he's going from a small pond to a huge pond and he didn't prove he was the big fish in the small pond yet...

Pic D'Orhy of course had a big following on here prior to the Final Furlong Podcast waxing lyrical about him... as scooby and others with a decent grasp on French form made the case - I fear the FFP will ruin the price about him now though, as the 'edge' we may have had from our members is now much more mainstream with this horse...

He's one I fancied for this, nice to hear they're going chasing....thanks billy

At the end of last season I think PN suggested they were going to be going down the champion hurdle route so I presume his schooling over fences has gone well.

Looks like there was a bit of money for him today with PP/BFSB cutting his price to 12s. 20s still in a place and when that place is 365 my arm doesn’t need much twisting to get involved

Getaway Trump was the second highest rated novice hurdler by Time Form and ended the season with an official OR of 155 after winning a Sandown handicap off top weight. Got to be on the shortlist and 20/1 with Bet365 is a great price.

Does anyone know the well being of Draconien? Is he back in training?

                    Archie Perhaps?

Absolutely no idea. I have trawled social media for information on this and drawn a complete blank. Whilst his wellbeing is a complete mystery, 40/1 is about the right price to take a speculative punt based on his run LTO, and Willie saying he is 'very very good' over fences. He even drew comparison with Footpad which means he must think he's a serious horse. My concern is Willie only ever seems to send one down the Arkle route and you have Klassical Dream, Laurina, Melon, Mr Adjudicator, Aramon and Saldier all in the mix ahead of Draconien in the market, so Draconien will have to live up to those words and some to end up there past all of the others.

Despite oddschecker listing the horses, I doubt many of your list will be running in the Arkle.

I'm pretty sure Klassical Dream and Saldier have both been confirmed for hurdling this season.
Laurina he'll probably mess around with this season until the Mares Chase is added to the Festival.
Melon I believe is now confirmed to go chasing.
Mr Adjudicator is not a chaser (Mullins word) and will go down the staying hurdle route I'd imagine.
                        Aramon I'm not sure of.

Looks about right, I can only see Melon & Draconien being potential arkle horses for him from the odds available at this stage anyway.

Sharjah too, but his well being, like Draconiens, needs confirming too.

I'd be concerned about the ground for him. Needs good ground doesn't he?

I’m sure I read Quick Grabim is going chasing this year, if this is the case I think he could be a potential Arkle winner. He missed Cheltenham this year due to injury but he impressed me over 2 mile over hurdles
