  • I don't think GBB ran to anything like the same level as he did against Brewin yesterday and not taking that form so literally myself.

Whether he would have won today or not is really the issue Scoob...,Murphy is building him up slowly and we’ll see at Sandown how good he really is but at this stage I’d agree with you taylorch.

Global citizen and Midnight shadow were both higher rated than anything that ran in today's race.

        • In all reality al dancer has been beaten giving 10 pounds in weight away against a mare who's had 4 runs in succession and went off and used her experience to her advantage.

Rhere were some good horses behind, I dont know if he'd have liked the ground today, maybe he loved it... but it was his 2nd run over fences and for me, it was a good run. And as good as anything yet, seen to date.

          • Al Dancer jumped well today and didn’t appear to kick on when trying to close up the hill so he would prefer better ground. He struggled in the Supreme on soft going so maybe he need better ground

She was more experienced, but the others all jumped really well. They were just beaten for speed. Not sure their lack of experience hindered them. They were right there all the way and just never really made an impression, even when she jumped badly at the last.

I'd say the horses that have ran against Moon Over Germany in Ireland have the more reliable form as his rating is probably about right once you look at his recent runs. Not sure the hurdle rating's that Al dancer and trump have got are quite right.

              • Today's winner is decent and it took a good one to beat her the last time.

Posted this after the first Al Dancer v Getaway Trump race and stick by it; Getaway Trump travelled well but just doesn’t seem to find much at the end of the race. Al Dancer perhaps slightly unlucky the 3rd last fence was omitted as his jumping is a strong point but he’ll always find 1 or 2 too good in an Arkle

I'd give GT another chance on better ground and perhaps with more forceful tactics. Thought Cobden could have been more positive at the fences. The Arkle does look to be going to Ireland though. Think I'll top up in Fakir. Him and Melon for me

I’m not the horses biggest fan but I thought GT was coming to win the race then gave the second last an almighty smack which took the stuffing out of him, likely to prove better than the bare result suggests...

                        • Although Fakir has possibly set the benchmark so far, I thought is repost this from the recent JOB stable tour. Things can obviously change but he seemed suggest the intermediate trip of the JLT.

                          Star quality

                          Fakir D'Oudairies
4g Kapgarde - Niagaria Du Bois
                          JP McManus
                          B1142-2
                          RPR 146h OR 149h
We might go novice chasing with him. He was obviously one of the best four-year-olds around last year and he probably didn’t get a chance to fully show how good he is as we never went past 2m with him and he never really got proper soft ground. He’s schooled very well over fences and, while the JLT is a long way down the line, he wouldn’t be too far off running in something like that if he can translate his hurdling form to fences.

Theres no right or wrong answer atm.
Honestly at this point I have backed Fakir D only, but am coming round to the idea that 25/1 on Notebook is massive, looking at those that are shorter than him currently in the market.

                            So Fakir-Notebook-Melon of those three.

Also have liked Nube Negra’s two jumping runs, and the plan is to go into the big time with him at Sandown next timeout,
It’s all on visuals, not ratings, but he is the one that has impressed me in Britain.

I think the trainer will step him up, but not convinced that would eek out any improvement c/w staying at 2M.
