I don't have time unfortunately but it would be a very interesting exercise to check the prices offered by bookmakers that sponsor trainers against certain horses targets.

Standing joke that Paddy Power invariably know where Mullins horses are heading, I wonder if Tizzard, Hendo, Nichols etc provide an early heads up to the sponsors who provide financial support to the yard....

    • Honeysuckle at 5s NRNB looks a free stab in the dark here with Bet365.

She only runs if she wins the Irish Champion Hurdle. If she did, she’d be what price? 3/1 ish I reckon.

If she loses, she doesn’t run and it’s money back.

It’s not even tying money up til the festival either because it’s full cashout Bet365.

      Honeysuckle @ 5/1 NRNB (Bet365) - 5 points

I'd actually guess she'd be shorter than 3s MOM. Could be wrong, but if she beats whats likely to turn up for the ICH, she'll have more substance than Epatante

Not a horse I've ever taken to if I'm honest and only one piece of form in her book that suggests she can win a G1 race and it's possible everything ran below their best in that Hattons Grace hurdle.

There have been strong cases for Benie, Honesysuckle and Epitante all to ditch the Mares and head to the Champion hurdle, and although I know this is a sensitive subject, but it makes the creation of a mares programme somewhat redundant.
Both Benie and Honeysuckle have been targeting 20f prizes, presumably with a view to taking in the G1 Mares race at Cheltenham, only Epitante looks to be a 2 miler so I can see her going Champion Hurdle but not the other two...

Was thinking this earlier, then thinking her form already has more substance for me.

I’ve just did that. I was offered the same cash out as the equivalent of a place (£68 from a £7.5 e/w bet) so cashed out and put it on Honeysuckle NRNB at 5/1 which is the same price as the original bet but will get the money back if she doesn’t run.

Yeah it does but i guess until she drops back to 2miles there'll be a minor question mark over the trip. Her form is probably already stronger, but taking on the Sharjah's etc. that represent the 2milers Ireland have will make it even better!

I’ve done exactly the same. Cashed my 40/1 out and put on at 5/1 Nrnb. Kept my double bet with unexcepted just in case

                  • Good luck if your on Honeysuckle at sexy prices , ive missed any value so i will leave her be , just hope she dont go Champion Hurdle as i am hip deep in on Saldier.

                    • Personally I don’t think Honeysuckle will go to the Champion Hurdle (one of the reasons I cashed out AP big price and went for single NRNB) and fully expect her to line up in Mares Hurdle but got an option of money back now.

Ps it was £62 I cashed out with and not £68 so very happy with that outcome.

                      • Nice to hear this from Willie: “Saldier is progressing slowly but nicely after his hold-up," he said. "I don't plan to run him before Cheltenham and the Champion Hurdle remains the plan."

Cheers for that MS , gently being brought to the boil hopefully , if any trainer can get him to Champion in the form of his life its Willie.

                          Come On Saldier

So is anyone going to bring up 14/1 NRNB?

Horses infront of him in the market:

Eptante - a mare who won one handicap and a dreadful christmas hurdle, has one run at Cheltenham, a flop in a dreadful Mares Novice
Envoi Allen - a Novice who won’t run
Honeysuckle - going for the mares
Saldier - an oft injured horse you are hoping isn’t injured
Pentland Hills - last seen trailing in 3 lengths behind Ch’tibello and a head infront of Gumball
Klassical Dream - not had a good run all season and possibly hurt itself last time up, still can’t behave at the start
Sharjah - ground dependant, no course form but recently claimed the much sought after scalp of petit mouchoir...

You'd have to balance it with:

Samcro - got absolutely no CH winning form to speak of in his entire career, finds nothing for pressure, trainer has an abysmal CH record

Agree with this, Gordy has been contemplating a step up in trip aswell, never mentioned a step down...he doesn’t look quick enough to win a churdle or arkle. To be honest he doesn’t find anything off the bridle to winning the RSA or stayers either.
In my opinion if he can’t win the JLT, he won’t be winning at Cheltenham......though I have no idea what race he’ll be turning up in
