Hello Fat Jockeys,

  • For my 70/1 E/W voucher posted on here ages ago, I’d just love to see Not So Sleepy win Saturday.

He’s probably not good enough to place in a champion hurdle but his run style off the front with the aim to just blast off and hope he lasts out the 2 miles makes him a fascinating runner if he made the festival.

One of the problems you have is Tom Segal fancies him

Not So Sleepy has 10 lbs to find on OR with Elgin

Both 8 year old handicappers....but mines still 100/1

I feel like you’ve spoken about your lad so much I’d kick myself if he placed and I didn’t have a point on in (assuming Benie doesn’t go here) what looks like the worst champion hurdle of my lifetime (albeit I was only born in 1998).

I’m gonna have to have a small play here ain’t I. For the novelty almost.

          The Elgin fan club DOUBLES

I don't even like him that much but it is fun trying to get the next Rawnaq or Saint Calvados

          • I thought it was a decent case, Kev. He’s not a bad horse. It’s a weak renewal. A place is not out of the question.

If Not So Sleepy wins the CH I’ll be chuffed for you mate but I’ll shed a little tear for the quality of the race. I had a good eye on him around the flat handicaps before finally making a few quid when he won at Epsom. He then seemed to enjoy stepping up in trip and I backed him at a huge price each way in the Cesarewitch when he ran a cracker. But Champion Hurdle? ’ckin hell.

                  • Apologies if it's already been mentioned but after the weekend is Abacadabras not worth a bit at 20-1 NRNB. On a line through Darver Star he's bang there.

                    • Although ground may be a concern, on this seasons form Cornerstone Lads price of 50/1 (boost available) is generous. It’s a very murky picture and his hat is very much in the ring IMO.

This last page of the Champion hurdle thread is right up there for me.

                        Elgin
                        Not So Sleepy
                        Abacadabra's
                        Cornerstone Lad

                        WoW.

                        • This is not an intended swipe at any of the Not So Sleepy backers on at huge prices but presumably Darver Star is coming here now, and if so what's he doing at a bigger price than Not So Sleepy? They are the same age, ones had 43 starts and the other 13.
Not So Sleepy to his credit bolted in last time but off a very low mark, he seems very one dimensional in his run style, and i highly doubt he'll be good enough to produce an effort to fend off champion hurdlers from the front. Even in a weak year.
Darver Star has a trainer that now knows what it takes to win a Champion, has insane progression, for all Honeysuckle wasn't probably at her best and the form is already in the book.

                            • Any Supasundae fans got sky to price up a top 4 finish and they've gone 11/2 think that's fair given I can see tipsters arguing his case to be ridden to a view to placing, classy horse and ex fez winner etc

You've woken up to a reality where Epatante is a Champion Hurdle favourite.

I've made cases for two of those and have EpatNte at 40/1.

                                Why am I bothering
