  • Thought Solo was excellent... very taken myself. 3 pts at 4/1 NRNB and will leave it until nearer the time to top up as can't see him being shorter than 3/1 on the day.

Well done to those who took the big prices before he ran

        • Word of caution .......... When Aspire Tower destroyed his rivals over Christmas he went 3/1 fav. Wouldn’t be going anywhere near Solo at the prices.

I've used my patronising emoji in honour of your comment, and on behalf of most forum members.

But of course you're correct as on the day it would be unusual if Solo's price is not bigger, given the other ones at the top of the market.

Comparing time’s on good to soft on a flat track vs heavy on an undulating track wont tell you much

                    • Cheers Ray.

Yeah I appreciate that Charlie, just wondering if Solo is worth the massive cut in price. His run was impressive today but I’m still in the Allmankind camp

Amen pal. People can take 3/1 about a horse that's beaten a load of mid 120's horses by 18L+, or Allmankind/Goshen who have done that to horses now rated 140+

                          • But Solo just wins for me, looks an absolute power house. Get the price doesn’t look great but if he lines up he’s a 2/1 shot and baring accidents he flies home and gets the job done. Think we know why pfn was keen to talk about the boodles for Mick Pastor last night. Was against the head of the market for various reasons, and was waiting for something to grab this race by the balls (literally).

First things first ..... we’ve seen the horse run once in Britain. The opposition are quiet clearly poor. The time wasn’t particularly great. To think he’s head and shoulders above the opposition to the extent that he’s just going to turn up and win is ambitious to say the least.

He could be very good yes but as I’ve said in a previous post, we’ve seen this already with Aspire Tower this season. Personally think it’s an open race with many possible outcomes. Strongest form is clearly Allmankind but I can see a shock winner in all honesty.

                              • If we say the 3rd ran to its mark of 126. Which isn't beyond the realms. You'd have to say Solo is good for his mark given of 146 and perhaps a couple pounds more. You'd like to think there's more to come, but then again that can be said for most of the others too. Like people have said 3/1 is short enough and personally I wouldn't want to back him at that price right now considering how competitive it is at the front of the market.
