  • Fat Jockey - Patrons and Donations

Now that the various forum and website upgrades have bedded in we would like to provide an update for you.

The website has been transferred to a new company. Kevin (Kevloaf) is the Company Director. The original founders had been taking lesser roles over time and this puts Kevin’s input on an official footing.

At present the site does not currently generate any revenue which is something that we want to address without losing the sense of community created here.

Our first objective is to generate enough to cover the costs of the hosting and technical support needed.

If there are advertisers or businesses out there who are interested in advertising, partnership or sponsorship on the site please contact kevin@fatjockey.com . We have currently 30,000 page views a day, which typically rises to 80,000 the closer we get to Cheltenham.

We have also added a patreon link here. https://www.patreon.com/fatjockey?fan_landing=true
There is no intention to make the site fee based but any contributions are much appreciated.
One off donations can be made here:
    https://pay.anna.money/p/fjforumslimited

Any other ideas that might help cover costs are also welcome.

If you can put that link behind a 'Donate' button on the home page, it might help and serve as a constant reminder.

Given ?100 of the ?300 sponsorship and entry monies for the TTF is earmarked for the Forum at the end of the competition, would it be OK for these monies to be paid via this facility and the two prizes of ?150 and ?50 paid out likewise ? Would save a lot of hastle.

might be worth setting up a Patreon? Fairly simple and other places use it really well

Kevloaf does this mean we now have to address you differently? Sir? Guv'nor?

On a serious note, all sounds good to me. If there's anything I can do to help, drop me a message.

I hope Kev is not drawing a salary as he’s a degenerate gambler

On a serious note though, what sort of cost is associated to keeping the site running for a year at present?

Properly classed as 'active', it's circa 170 at the moment.

Almost 700 view the website a day though

So between 170 of us, ?1200 works out at ?7.05 per active member. That absolutely has to be achieveable.

                            Come on folks, dig deep...

Why not put the members section behind a paywall say after Cheltenham for next season then charge ?10 to be a member for 12 months? Would seem reasonable to me
