Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

However, looking at the polling data it doesn’t look so good but I don’t know what historical trends are like this far out.
When is the last time that polling data came close to being accurate? They are typically left leaning

2016 Election - Clinton a double digit favourite early doors remained in the lead all the way to polling day where she was 3.2 points ahead. Lost.
EU referendum - Remain the whole way up until the results where Leave won
2019 UK election - Polls were a minimum of 20 seats out all the way upto the day before the election.

It is criminal that there isn’t. More criticism of them.

I would love Allaho or even Kemboy to come over for the KG but every year we get our hopes up and it never comes to fruition. If anyone was to come over I could see it being Samcro if they fancy a step up in trip. Now that the Irish trainers title is so close I don’t think Willie or Gordon will send many over pre Cheltenham.

Kempton is never going to Santinis track, CDO has the most of the U.K. covered, but i would expect Champ to go there and be an obvious danger and possibly Cyrname off he is a)ok and b) doesn’t have such a battle first time out.

....it’s difficult to assess what the situation will be in December but one I’d be interested in is Real Steel. It ran a fine race in the GC and was right in the mix two out.

I know your association with Kemboy and the track would suit, but if Mullins sends one over, the King George could also be ideal for Real Steel. 45-1 with Ladbrokes boost is tempting.

                • Don't know if anyone is interested in this one but saw it today. Appreciate It and Bob Olinger both to win any race 200-1. On W.Hills they're priced at 16s and 9s so seems decent value.

Would you not be concerned that, if they actually get there, there's a fair chance they will be in the same race?

That would be my concern for sure archie, though could easily be split (no reason for trainer or owners to do so mind). 200/1 is plenty fair though for small stakes.

                      • Someone really seems to fancy Chevely park
Can see 2 winners, 3 winners and 4 winners all priced up along with multiple combinations of their horses in the place markets.

They do seem to be putting together a really impressive squad at the moment in the NH game

                        • Quick question, if you win cash (that you didn't have, but can withdraw) on a promotion do you count that as a free bet still or cash?

Obviously free bets can be turned into cash pretty easily for a small loss, so I see the above along the same lines as what the bookmakers would class as a free bet.

Last year I recorded them as cash (probably why my stakes were so high), but I'm thinking it should be freebies as hasn't affected my betting balance at all.

                            I'd say still cash.

How you accumulate your betting bank is up to you... but if I have a win at the weekend I don't class it as 'free Cheltenham money', that's just how I decide to spend/invest my profit.

I know FM has won a bit on the poker recently, and it looks to me like he's putting that towards his Cheltenham punting ... so whilst it was money he didn't have before the tournament starts, to class it as 'free' would be a bit misleading?

The fact your stakes were so high may look worrying on the outside, but when you can justify how or why that's the case there isn't reason to change from what you've done previously?

My Nan gives me £10 for Cheltenham every year to "help me along" (bless her, she has no idea how much I have on) and I don't record that as a free bet, it goes down as a losing cash bet...as I didn't HAVE TO use it.

                            ....and so on....

                            • All fair points Kev, and in that case, the fact your can turn 'free bets' into actual cash should not be seen as 'free bets' which I have no qualms with, although my pts level will rise dramatically also

The promotions in my original post about it were ones where no stakes are required so ultimately more 'free' than a free bet, where you have to stake. They are all minimal amounts but definitely add up on multiple accounts across several different bookmakers. On their own they would be negligible.
