Crowdfunder - Fat Jockey Forum upgrade

Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

I’m not seeing it that way.
If a horse can be expected to run 4/5/6 times in a normal season but is only racing 3 times because races are culled then there are less chances for that horse to lose their unbeaten record.
Simple maths for me, the more events the greater the risk.
Just like my Saturday football accas...

    • Most top horses aren’t seen until November, Shishkin made his debut in december and Envoi in November(Bumper year wasn’t until December)

Plenty of time for them to have 3 runs. Even DRF/Chelt/Punch gets it done for the Irish(incredibly unlikely!)

      • They’re always get 3 runs HF, the issue is that with a reduced season (should there be one) the best horses may not get to run a 4th, a 5th etc time...

        • ...the bonus of the ‘unbeaten’ bets is that you have a bit of insurance if unfortunately a horse misses a chunk of the campaign through injury. 3 wins in easier races and one part of the bet is in if something sadly goes amiss.

          • Added the Goshen (CH) and Gypsy Island (Mares Nov) Request a bet special at 80/1.
Best Standard price double is 65/1 so some rare added value albeit win only....

            • Shishkin and Envoi Allen both to win, Al Boum Photo, Allaho and Paisley Park all to place, all any race 125/1.
Looks like a fair price to use this weeks free bet, topped up max cash too...

That’s a great bet, I’ll be having a bit of that now

                • A lot of them look amazing value.... I prefer to keep it to 3 horses just because of how likely it is for one to miss the festival

100% agree with this as great as that looks what are the chances of all 5 even making it to the festival? Though I must add with nothing else going on im finding it easier to get sucked in to some of these bets this year.

                    • As an antepost bets is very vulnerable that one of the horses will get injured or miss the festival but for the horses involved 125/1 is very generous but only if they turn up.

                      • We'll all have our view on each individual horse getting to the start line but, if you say that each of the five is 1/2, that accumulates to about 13/2 that they all make it. Seems a bit skinny to me when there are 4 chasers involved.

Yes agree mate. They are ok for a little fun bet but wouldn’t be going mad on getting 5 horses to the festival.

The accumulative odds will rarely be value in these specials but it’s not the sort of bet you can (usually) have.
These RABs are OK for the free bets, and personally when having small stakes bets I’m only looking at the bigger prices, and that of course means increased risk...

                            • I'd settle for picking picking 5 winners/places on the Tuesday morning... doing it in April 2020 is nearly impossible.

We'll get an injury to a high profile horse before we even see another horse.

                              • How is anyone qualifying for the £5 free bet with Sky, with pretty much jack all on that is of interest to bet on?

I'd imagine the majority of people would ordinarily qualify through horse racing or football, in a normal year.
