I was under no illusions when Sky got sold but this does grate...
    Yes Q it was me,

Skybet you can bet the same amount on the same RAB or horse, every 24 hours.
Skybet allow me to win GBP10 max per day (excl stake) unless the price is above 50/1 when I can win more, (ie: 20p bet on 100/1 each day, the max goes up to GBP20.20 per day)

William Hill you can bet the same amount on the same horse or Special every 28 hours (1 day, 3 hours, 47 minutes to be precise)
WH allows me to win GBP50 per day (plus stake) so I can build up bets much quicker.
Since I have been betting in this way, they now let me win up to GBP500 per bet on Cheltenham 2021 markets, but still low figures on all specials, which is a big improvement- maybe it’s because a I’ve been betting more frequently in this structured way, and not winning (as its antepost)?

Paddy Power you can bet the same amount on the same horse every 24 hours (plus around 4 minutes to be exact)
PP allow me to win GBP100 per selection (plus stake), and I’ve used this infrequently.

For all of the above, they obviously have tried to keep my accounts hollowed out and open with low restrictions, but if you are really keen to build up a stake with them, it is possible by diarising to repeat the same bet every day (I load the daily times in my google calendar on my mobile to reback each day, as above).

Doing this, even though I am restricted to low winning daily amounts on a bet, it is possible to build up a bet over days or weeks.

Prices move of course, so you may start out hoping to build up a bet and then the price shrinks.

You’ve know idea of knowing when/if that would happen, but I’ve found that the best time to start this structure is after the horse has just run, so it won’t run again for at least a month, and you have a chance of the bookie keeping the price similar for longer.

Also, the longer away the event is, then the longer the RABor horses price stay there.

For me the most daily bets I’ve put on with Skybet is 60, restricted to GBP10 payout per day ( plus stake).
Still doing that one daily at the moment, the price hasn’t moved, and I now have over GBP600 payout if the bet comes off for approx GBP15 staked.

I also backed Envoi Allen to win the Gold Cup 2022, and Shishkin to win the Champion Chase 2022, for 40-odd days til the price shrank, and Monkfish for around 20-odd days til his price shrank, and each one would be well into four-figure payouts now, should any of these longshots actually come off.

It is possible to have a crack at these, and in the case of my WH account, maybe they have eased part of their restrictions on me now, at least for a few weeks

Its not how I would prefer to bet, but it’s small gradual stakes, and relentless diary planning, which is definitely different to my main way of betting,

But if Envoi Allen or Monkfish win the Gold Cup 2022 or Shishkin the Champion Chase in March 2022 then it will have been well worth it.

Like I know we're not supposed to talk absolute stakes here, but I'm not going to the arse of another sky account to place ?10 on that
Let me have ?5 and the free ?5 bet on it

      • Skybet have gone 5/1 on the CPS (Champion Chase) / Monkfish (Festival Novices Chase) double, which is just over twice the price that the double's available elsewhere - not strictly a RAB, but thought that it was worth mentioning.

Really, really good post here from Mr Saxon Warrior. There’s so much he’s written here that I’ve learnt about with all the online bookmakers, how they work individually, and the duration of how their ‘offers’ last for.

A most excellent post, and an education. And mirrors mostly of how I look to bet, and the fashion I’ve adopted.

I’m in a position where if any two of Monkfish, Appreciate It, Envoi Allen or Shishkin were to win at next year’s festival, I’d be a very happy man, without risking too much stake wise.

The point he makes about ‘the longer away the event is, then the longer the RAB horses prices stay there’ is extremely relevant, and I feel the most important point for all punters (who are, i stress, are comfortable betting months ahead).

The biggest example would be back in October when William Hill were offering 4/6 on Gordon Elliott to train ‘4 or more winners at the festival’. It lasted a good month on there, allowing me to push daily amounts of money on the market, and get a daily boost into 8/11. The moment he went 4/7 was the moment I got out. Job done. But important to note - a month for that 4/6 to last, primarily I believe because very few people are looking at these markets, let alone staking money on them.

Fast forward a few months to 9am yesterday morning - SKYBet put all of their ‘Willie Mullins to train 4,5,6,7,8,9 & 10 winners’ on show.

At the moment Mullins was introduced at 4/6 to have 4 winners, I went big. Had to. Knew the price was massively wrong for SKYBet, and hugely in my favour. I tried ringing friends with accounts to get even more on........and literally watched as the price shortened before my eyes. And it was literally and live before me eyes!

24 hours later and WP Mullins to train 4 winners now sits at 2/7. It’s taken less than 24 hrs for SKYBet to,I would suggest, be delivering some very nice profits to thousands of punters. I would go as far to say it’s the only big bet I’ve put on so far where I’ve believed it’s just about won before anything’s happened. 4/6 into 2/7 in less than 24 hours proves what Mr Saxon Warrior has mentioned - prices move very, very quickly in the lead up to Cheltenham (the fact it opened up at a price at exceptional value to any punter helps....) whereas months in advance, you can nibble at fantastic prices for weeks on end, mostly without any of them moving a touch.

          • Thank you for the kind comments EnvoyAllen , I'm restricted to hell with Skybet (as mentioned in my post) so I can only look months ahead, so being restricted has made me open my eyes to how I can use Skybet (at all).

            • Grabbed some of that 4/6 too! Mega,

For those that think Ireland to win the Prestbury Cup at 1/4 is still generous, then given how (barring any French winners) that is going to take at least 15 winners, surely there is great value to be had in Skybet's Ireland to train 16+ winners at 8/13. Only one more winner after all.
Took the 8/11 when this opened but have gone back in for seconds at 8/13 too as they don't let me have much on.

              • ....5 selections is a bit of a non-starter, but some might be interested in Hills offer;

Sharjah, Eklat de Rire, Shan Blue, The Storyteller & Fakiera all to finish top 3 any race @ 717-1 (with boost).

I’m just thinking would you get a better price doing each way multiples?

...I’m sure you could work that out if you know definite targets.

                          • Beware folks.

I have just availed of the "Irish Trained Winner Of 16 Races Or More At The Cheltenham Festival @ 8/13, RequestABet - Cheltenham Festival 2021 - Prestbury Cup"

Which is almost exactly the same as the "Irish Trained Winner Of 16 Races Or More At The Cheltenham Festival @ 8/13, RequestABets up to 10/1 - Cheltenham Festival 2021 RequestABets - Non Runner No Bet"

....except for the lack of NRNB on the former. I have queried this using Live Chat and been told that NRNB wouldn't apply to my bet.

I'm not sure in practice what this would mean, what sort of scenario in which I might lose out (the only ones I can think of would see me with bigger disappointments elsewhere) but it has certainly served as a reminder to me that what may ostensibly appear the same in different sections of the website, is not always. I feel stupid, hopefully you can avoid feeling similar!

                            • Sky have boosted the Appreciate It (Supreme) and CPS (CC) double from 3/1 to 6/1

Also if you're in the Sky Bet Club, they've boosted Appreciate It supreme from 6/4 to 11/4

I was limited to 20 and 10 respectively (both seem the limit based on previous comments by others) but worth a mention for fans of either/both.
