I think so. I like his profile for this race and think he ticks lots of boxes. He's by Yeats so will stay all day. His jumping over fences is very neat and economical. He loved the step up to 3m LTO, with RWF boosting form since. He's not G1 class but wouldn't be a million miles off it

    • This is probably the race most puzzling me for an answer atm but probably because it's the most unknown lineup of the graded races. I just think the 'classier horse' angle gets showed up over and over again in this race, therefore if Latest Exhibition showed up I would be cautious. You want a horse who you knows going to get the trip, with potentially a little bit more improvement in the tank, and surely at the prices that horse is Coko Beach? He jumped like a stag in the Theyestes and could still have more in the locker at staying distances. I'd rather back him at 14/1 than Dickie Diver who has had 1 run over fences.

Couldn't agree more speedy. Henderson has a shocking record in this race. DD is just another over-bet Hendo dog with fleas.
I'd also add that DD has no chase experience, 1 handicap run, he's an 8yo as well. He's got no chance in this race.

Yeah think that's worth a go for sure!

Jane Mangan made the comments pre race that it's interesting they'd booked Jamie Cod..... of course Jamie likely to ride for Gordon but Codd could give connections a good steer on whether he'd be good enough.

He seems to be idle but you'd have little worry about the trip based on today?

I think 33/1 NRNB is fair enough based on that!

Longhouse Poet beat him back at end of Dec, I'd be all over him at 25s or 33s also. But its shaping up to be a hot contest this year, you may want to wait until nearer the day to try get extra places..

                • Trainer saying aim is the Irish National so depends on his weight whether they'd run or sit and weight....

Think I'll cash the 50s and take 33s NRNB to be fair.

                  • Easy to forget the race was an Irish National trial and with that race being run on 5th April it has to be unlikely any horse runs at Cheltenham then Fairyhouse...

True, also would more than likely give Codd a very good ride in it. That was my thoughts pre-race when Mangan mentioned Codd + NHC (no chance he rides him there)...

Proper idle big horse but has plenty of ability there. Codd a good pilot for him.

Big time. I think he'll be even better over further

                        • Just been going through the exchanges and Latest Exhibition is 18.5 for this and 32.0 for the Festival Chase.

Those odds are far bigger than I expected. Does anyone know if they are side stepping Cheltenham? They said they'd decide in a couple of weeks but perhaps a decision has been made

Grade 1 at Fairyhouse first weekend in April (Ryanair Gold Cup Novices Chase), seems they are edging towards that. Monkfish has cost him 3 G1's now, so they will avoid him for the foreseeable it seems.

Don't think there's been anything official but imo I do think he'll stay at home. The Fairyhouse prize is almost as big as Cheltenhams and he'll have nothing to beat.

Understandable. I'll hold off taking the exchange prices for this race then.
