A bragging rights contest, only appliccable to the above.

Not sure why the who said what and when about Galvin has cropped up in the CH thread but just to put the record staight. In terms of open forum comments then Eggs is probably the first to have mentioned it for wider consumption but I had backed Galvin prior to that on 23rd June.

In terms of making a case specifically for the NHC, frankly I don't care as already sitting on a 22-1 TWAR bet by then

Post # 22 by Eggs in the Hills TWAR thread.

...Galvin is one I want onside & there is quite a disparity in a/r markets; 22-1 Hills (with boost); 14-1 PP; 12-1 SkyBet.

    And my own diary.

Having read Gordon Elliott's recent positive comments about targeting Galvin at the Galway Plate, this indicates to me that he considers the horse to be fairly versatile over different ground conditions and trip. He is also looking to build on what he stated was an improved performance at Cheltenham when runner up to Imperial Aura. Taking all this into account I have bet 1 point Galvin to win Any race boosted to 22-1, since I think he could end up at Cheltenham again in 2021 but no idea yet in which race.

2-0 to Eggs and NW methinks

    • Not true. The vet first mentioned him for the race when he was being foaled.

      • An unhealthy obsession with being 'first' to say something on here.

We're all on the same side aren't we?

It's almost like people have got big ego's and a selective memory int it ?
Not a common trait in a gambler that

Personally does my head in all the back slapping and sycophantic after timing

I think it's probably the fact there are so many posts on here that don't get read or are forgotten about (just down to the sheer volume, which is no bad thing) that when another member(s) bring up a horse that has already had a case made for it it can be a frustrating for those who have already done the work. However a simple reminder of when said horse was first mentioned or a proper case made for it is no bad thing. Especially when a later post gets untold credit for something that has already been said

I think the majority of the long term members have been through this before.

I guess egos probably has something to do with it, and everyone has an ego, it just depends to what level

That all said, we should all most definitely be on the same side

                • What I’d like to see is everyone cop a big multi then it shouldn’t matter who put what up, your bank balance will tell you it doesn’t matter...

                      • I think Monkfish being very impressive there will definitely get Ricci putting Royale Pagaille into the GC. He's gonna have the 2nd fav at worst next year I think so take a chance with RP now.

                        • Is there a post race interview anywhere with Paul Nolan about Latest Exhibition?

I don't see todays performance having any difference to the decision to be honest. Monkfish was always their RSA horse, and he obviously still is. There was no danger of RP coming to the RSA barring injury, so if they happened to be leaning towards the NHC before today then I can't see that today would have changed anything.

My feeling is that they will go GC for the record, very much debating cashing out my bet for here.

Faugheen the Machine and I both independently asked Hills to price him up for the NH Chase on July 9. They priced him up at 36-1 with boost - do we make the podium!!!

Until then the talk was about backing him TWAR.

A frank and entertaining exchange of views on Galvin started on the Hills TWAR movers and shakers thread with post 35 by Lobos on July 8. The Galvin debate was still raging the following day and continued with posts in the 90s.

                              • I thought Patrick gave Asterion Forlonge a lovely qualifying round for this today. Obviously he has jumping issues and he wasn't exactly fluent today. However he did jump dead straight and I thought Patrick rode him to get round didn't ask for any big jumps seemed happy to sit tight. The fact Patrick rode him today was a clue in itself that this was the target imo. I've backed him at 16-1 with 365 if he's declared with Patrick on board I think he goes off around half that price.
