Hello Fat Jockeys,

Happygolucky is a horse that I think has a cracking chance here. Especially EW. He’s currently 20/1 with 365.

For me the right profile of the winner in this race is a galloper/sound jumper who isn’t flashy. Carefully Selected was the sexy horse last year - was never winning before a mistake. You need a real grinder in this - I don’t need to tell you all that.

he won over 3m1f @ Cheltenham in Dec handing a beating to The Mighty Don. Now the form hasn’t exactly stood up but HGL wasn’t stopping at the line. He galloped all the way through the line.

Kim Bailey is also enjoying great success this season so he’s from a stable in form.

Galvin for me is the one to beat - I don’t the RP will turn up. Given the nature of the race not many tend to finish - I’m certain this lad will finish the race and should place.

    I really like him.

    Thoughts?
Like him as well TOTG, but same as VF have him for the Ultima, on a very nice mark I think for that race.

Ruby mentioned Patrick had been doing a lot of schooling all week with him in advance of todays race, kept him wide also to give him clear views of his fences. Think the Marsh or RSA is more likely target now unless they get a run into him to get him qualified.
If he turns up in the Marsh I think i'd shit out a litter of kittens before the race, it'll be nervy enough watching Envoi as it is without adding that fruitcake into the mix.

          • You tend to think if you can’t get one of the top 4/5 amateurs you wouldn’t run here. With all amateurs been barred at the minute - if that doesn’t change, will we see more higher rated horses here & trainers double handed etc?

So for example, if the ,capper gives Escaria Ten 150 for his bogus Warwick entry but he can run here with Jack Kennedy riding - does it come here?

LE might skip Cheltenham and wait for Fairyhouse Paul Nolan says. Doesnt want to take on Envoi, Monkfish and maybe RP in the NHC.

“We’ll make a decision in the next couple of weeks, we’ll just have to think about Cheltenham or not,” Nolan adds. “When you finish second you’re disappointed, especially when you’ve one win and three seconds this year already. I’d prefer to win. I’d prefer to win at Fairyhouse than to be second at Cheltenham again, that’s it.

“The Ryanair Gold Cup (at Fairyhouse) is absolutely an option. The horses that go to Cheltenham probably won’t go to Fairyhouse so we’ll have to keep all our options open.”

                • Anyone got an update on Dickie Diver? Missed the opportunity to qualify last time sure to scoping dirty, not a peep said since then.

I’m sure someone will have posted NHC qualifying options as well, anything sensible coming up in the next few weeks?

How short does Galvin go when Royale Pagaille goes GC, Latest Exhibition doesn't turn up, Next Destination goes RSA or skips altogether, Dickie Diver doesn't qualify, Coko Beach goes to the Ultima & Eklat De Rire goes RSA?

Not seen any quotes but I imagine we'll see him entered in the Reynoldstown Chase at Ascot a week on Saturday.

Seems to fall in line with last year’s timings for him.

Doesn’t hugely affect me anyway, only got 1pt on at 33s, but was just thinking to be aware of cash out timings

Being such a fragile horse, even if he did run at Ascot surely there isn't enough time to recover and be competitive at Cheltenham. I took the cash out a week ago as I can't see him having any impact on the NHC now with one average run in nearly 2 years

                          • Racing Post says Gordon Eliott indicated the National Hunt Chase is "on the agenda" for Escaria Ten who is unlikely to run at Warwick next weekend.

                            • Monkfish is going to double penetrate me - both in the RSA, and making this much harder for Galvin to win now. There will be loads of RSA hopefuls diverted here wont there? I am half expecting trainer stubbornness to win the day but I am not hopeful (CT & TBB, PN & ND, PN & LE).

I dread to think what a google search would throw up if entering that exact sentence...
