Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

  • Let's ask it another way, would you have expected Galvin to win that race, in that style, today?

    • Venetia not discounting the Gold Cup there. Reading between the lines with her answers in her interview she'll be inclined go that way.

Crap how did I miss that interview.

        Can you paraphrase?

          That's what I thought.
The three season novice thing was a clue also.
          He's not a novice really.
Just has the luxury of that option.

She said nothing really, and was asked twice, and even for a mark out of 10 for probability.
Just said he'll be rated accordingly for a Gold cup and that the race wasn't that good, and she'll speak to the Ricci's

            • Asked if she'll go the Gold Cup now. She didn't answer directly, because she'll need to speak to Ricci, but went on to justify running by saying he's a third season novice. She was very strong on how highly they rate him, which again sounded like justification. Based on what she said I'd say 80/20 Gold Cup.

                • He was very impressive today in a pretty average field, having missed the fancy prices happy to see where he rocks up on the day. Wont even entertain PPs 3/1 nrnb as he will be about that on the day with offers and bookies willing to take him on.

What race wasn't that good? The race he won or the Gold Cup?

My post yesterday was in reply to Spectre post where he said the rating he had for Royale Pagaille was "off the chart", and was not specific to todays run.

I didn't say anyone argued against it, it was a question, hence the question mark, to try and gauge peoples opinions on it. I feel like that was taken out of context.

                      • ...RP a best price 5-1 NHC & a best price 12-1 GC. I took the 33-1 a/r option but that post-race interview surprisingly suggests GC to me.

Fair enouhg, I've already asked those questions..... what would Santini have done today, what would Galvin have done today?

I think Santini would have won, less impressively, and I think Galvin might have won, no where near as impressively.

I'd have to think Royal Pagaille is Grade 2 minimum, whereas Galvin is Grade 2 maximum in my opinion.

Apologies, a lot of posts flying up at the moment, bound to have missed some.

                              • He put up a Grade 1 rating at Kempton which was why I got excited about him. If I was right he was well in today whoever he lined up against.

The handicapper will probably give him the rating he should have given him after Christmas now.
