Thought it was a brilliant run myself and probably the most eye catching in behind the Mullins horse. Fakira could pose a problem mind you.

Whatever happens though Mouse Morris got a really nice looking staying chaser in the making.

    • In a race that seems wide open, I am quite keen on Threeunderthrufive at 33/1 NRNB w/ Skybet. Was quite taken with him yesterday at Musselburgh . Beat Fantastikas by 3/4 length but never looked truly troubled conceding 8 pounds and never slowed on the run in. Fantastikas was beaten by Barbados Bucks by just a neck with a similar weight difference LTO yet BB is 12/1. I've put my free bet on a double with Envoi Allen.

Yep, backed him without the NRNB concession before his run at the weekend (as noted in my diary) @ 44.82/1. I think he has a great chance, and I don't get the price difference between him and Barbados Bucks on that form line. Obviously BB come out again and won well, but I'm not sure he beat much that day.

Nicely done. A good spot. Interesting that Skybet are offering the longest odds on him with the NRNB concession too. PP, for example, are 16/1 NRNB and Bet365 are 25/1 but without NRNB.

Yeah, I did find that strange, that's a decent NRNB price and TBH if I thought he would be that big after his win at the weekend I probably would have waited and not gone in on the boosted 40's

I'd much have preferred NRNB available

                • Its going to a lb either way I reckon. I think a strong run race will suit him over 2m5

He only came into the picture over 2M6F at the weekend, would a step back 2F really suit him?

                    • It will in my opinion as i think hes better then a handicapper and that hill with a fast run pace will be bang on, i would really like him to go here but id understand if they fancied him for the bartlett

Mouse Morris has warned punters to “hold their powder” when it comes to backing the promising Gentlemansgame at the Cheltenham Festival.

Having just his second start under Rules, the five-year-old finished a creditable second to the impressive Gaillard Du Mesnil in the Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown on Saturday.

Gentlemansgame is now among the favourites for next month’s Albert Bartlett but, even if he does make the journey to Cheltenham, Morris slightly favours the shorter Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle at this stage.

“I was delighted with him, I really was,” said Morris. “But whether he travels (to Cheltenham), we’ll have to see. I just don’t know yet.

“If he goes he’d probably run over two-five, as the three-mile race has a gruelling reputation. It can leave a mark.

"I think he has a nice future over fences" - Mouse Morris spoke to Kevin O'Ryan after Gentlemansgame impressed on Rules debut in January

“No one seems to know what is happening with the travelling yet, either.

“I certainly won’t be rushing him this season, he’s an out-and-out chaser. We’ll keep all options open, it’s just a bit early to commit to anything yet.

“He’d be more unlikely than likely, I think. I’d be holding my powder, that’s what I’d be advising them to do.”

Hes already run and won over 2m4 and run exactly the same. To be honest I cant help feeling he has been deliberately put in them positions to fly home late. Column Of fire ran off 143 last year, Fakiera has run in graded races and is rated 141. Could be top weight but will be a `graded horse in a handicap` as they say.

not going to bang on about it but for my bet it would be good news! As with honeysuckle not going to the mares i lost some nice ones

                                He could be.

COF got a monster rise didn’t he last year?

                                From around 136 to 143.
