space in the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle trial at Cheltenham in behind Does He Know. On paper Wild Romance stinks of stamina and that's exactly what you see when you watch her. She's doing all her best work at the end of her races and I love how Harry rode her at Cheltenham. Going up significantly in grade he knew exactly what was underneath him, and barring a couple of slaps down the neck, he lets them kick on down the hill confidently knowing she will fly up it, which she did. I loved that ride and it was the sort of performance you miss when weighing up who to back for the AB, then post race look back and watch the above and think 'it was obvious going up in trip will help'. She's far from a stand out contender rated 129 and I haven't backed her yet, but 10lbs over improvement over 3m wouldn't shock me one bit, and with a 7lbs mares allowance and a team having a massive season, she could make a very interesting left-field contender.

Kevloaf Related to the above, I was thinking nearer the Fez of doing an 'In Play Strategy' thread based on the example above. Thought process being we'll all be at home and betting in play at Cheltenham has always (at least for me) been impossible. I think a thread like that is best off in the members only section where lurkers can't view strategies/in play plans etc. Would you agree?

Polish runs in the lanzarote tomorrow, he may give a guide to the form, and her likely rating, as the martin pipe may suit her too. Like the mare that won last season.

Absolutely loved that from Barbados Bucks. Everything you want in 3m hurdler and despite not really associating Nicholls with this race, he looks like one that has the attributes for it with his ability to really dig in when challenged.

I really liked that too. Still 40/1 with Hills.

                  25/1 NRNB

Nicholls said they'll give him and entry, see what he's like next time up in grade.

Barbados Bucks is one I'll leave alone for now I think. On evidence so far it's possible that a flat track and/or going right handed might be important to him. For backers I'd see the counter-argument, but I either want to see an entry that shows some intent before March, or I'm prepared to wait to see if he takes up a Cheltenham entry.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Small update on Streets of Doyen for anyone who has him for the AB - Trainer John McConnell confirmed its his target. Excellent form in the book, probably highlighted by beating G1 winning Flooring Porter by 5L back in Oct. 40s with B365 still, in a race with no stand out candidates just yet.

“We were aiming him at the Albert Bartlett (Make Good) and Streets Of Doyen is now our big hope for that race.

“He wants good ground and will probably go straight to Cheltenham. He’s progressed really well and I think there is more to come from him.”

With that knowledge and make good out for the season.
Any self respecting antepost tipster would surely select this one.

I was hoping they would qualify Streets of Doyen for the Pertemps and off that mark would have a great chance, plan scuppered

Got plenty of hurdling experience, unbeaten over the trip are positives also.
