  • A race probably not littered with stars but plenty of potentially nice novice chasers and handicap prospects. They all rather finished in a heap in behind and whilst I haven't looked at the times I suspect the race wasn't run to suit some of the real staying types. I won't be taking the form of the race too literally, Vanillier aside, who was clearly best of the bunch and is most definitely one for connections to look forward to.

No worries VF! I backed him at the DRF & scratched him afterwards so when I heard he was under the weather was happy to forgive him having been so keen on Farouk who only finished a fraction ahead of him at Limerick which is a great prep for the AB!

Plus heard from a couple of good sources about Vanillier’s work with Flooring Porter in the lead up to the festival which I couldn’t ignore, or let go unannounced on here.

      • I’d 40’s about Farouk D’alene ... and never backed Vanillier for this after their race at Limerick is a lesson learned!

Same here OTL and I never even considered Vanillier for this I'm taking it as a moral victory though

Me too. I suspect with him jumping to his right they presumed he wouldn’t handle Cheltenham what with it being a left handed track. It was very frustrating but thanks to the Fat Jockeys I managed to cash out the day before it was removed. One to watch for the NH chase IMO.
