Not heard anything but looking at the strength of the races in question, I'd be surprised if they didn't go for the Albert Bartlett if they come over after today's fall.
It looks overpriced at 25-1 to me.

For me the potato was always more likely and last time I checked the exchange price reflected that, but no doubt Jessie will look to get another run in for confidence, remember he slid on landing 2/3 out earlier in season that I think shook him up, would like to see a neat round of jumping before March...

      • I cannot help wondering what would have happened today had BL settled.
BO was good though, and quite looking forward to a good old brit v irish clash in the Ballymore with the 2 favs, and of course others will have a say. Horses like Cape G and GDM been very impressive to me.
Shaping up to be a real good race

Stick the profit on NRNB and you're away
...I have Bob Olinger 33-1 Supreme with PP but stupidly didn’t cash-out before NRNB. 33-1 (365) & 36-1 (Hills) Bally. I just cashed out 33-1 AB with 365 for a full return (no profit).

          • BLUE LORD

looks like Willie plans to keep Blue Lord over mid-trips for now.

            RP report.

Trainer Willie Mullins said: “I was very happy with that, he was just too keen and that's something we need to sort out. It was a good performance from the winner too. We might change tactics with him over that trip. He was very keen but he appeared to stay.”

With that in mind the 20s with PP might not be the worst shout

Not sure what the new tactics would be.
He was keen and sat just off the pace.
So can only think they'll lead and push on with him.
But this would be fine for Bob Olinger as I couldn't not see him pick him up, like today.
                It'd also suit Nicholls horse.

                • Bob Olinger winning today has really set this race up to be a cracker. Love it when there is an English fave and Irish fave clash.

Absolutely. His chance rests on them getting the keenness out of him I’d say and not necessarily a major rethink of tactics. Presumably if they felt he had a turn of foot then a) they would have at least attempted to hold him up and b) would now be favouring a drop in trip. If they can get him to settle 20s is more than fair. If not he wins nothing imo

I think Faugheen_Machine feels the same.

I don't have any loyalty to the British horses so maybe I'm missing the appeal

                        I love the big clashes.

Yanworth Vs Yorkhill was a good one in this race a few years ago.

It's an opportunity to nail your colours to the mast a few weeks in advance, bore your mates by constantly taking about it and then gloating (or getting the piss ripped out of you) for hours after.

I'm firmly in the Bob Olinger camp with this one. He'll take beating imo.

                        • Over the moon with that today.

The reason I found this forum was in the summer searching for news on Bob Olinger on google and this forum came up - I absolutely loved him from day 1, and this would be my first real year antepost betting to a bit of a decent stake - so Bob is currently a 200 point winner for me in the Ballymore, great when you think you've seen a real good one and it turns out to be true. I think my first post on here was about him probably (can Kev find that?!)

Like a chesire cat here, the dream lives on!

Not sure about that. The top two in the Supreme (148p and 147p) are both rated well above the top two in the Ballymore (141p and 136p) by Timeform for example (will probably still be true after Bob Olinger's 136p is reassessed). You have your Brit v Irish clash for those that like it, and you have the likes of Third Time Lucki, Boothill and possibly My Drogo in the wings too. Not to mention the possibility of Ballyadam bouncing back.

If he didn't have Appreciate It for the supreme, who might also want to press on, then they'd run him in the supreme from the front I reckon.
They may even still do that and let Appreciate It take a lead.
But it sound like they fancy he's a good horse and is capable of being more than a classy domestique.
