Lovely stuff if you've got any of those, proper filthy! Unfortunately I haven't but I can't complain. I've got Bob O/Column of Fire, 125/1 TWAR that i'd forgotten about though!

      • Some quotes from Rachael Blackmore after the race. Haven't seen anything from Henry de Bromhead yet:

“He’s always shown us a lot at home and I think today was the stamp of the kind of horse he is for the future. I’m delighted with him.

“I wanted to ride a straight forward enough race on him. He’s a simple horse to ride in that sense and I was happy most of the way.

“He jumped better today in the latter half of the race. The jump is there if you really ask him.

“He quickened up well and he seems to tick a lot of boxes.

“I’m delighted for Brian Acheson and Robcour who are very supportive of the game and to get a Grade 1 winner is brilliant.

“I don’t think he’s a real sharp Champion Hurdle horse in the making. Two and a half is ideal for him now but I wouldn’t rule out two either.

“For the future he’s probably going to be one for longer trips. He’s won a point-to-point and looks one for fences in the future.”

I have BO/shiskin and BO/envoi doubles at 129/1 so starting to feel a bit giddy here too

          • The Supreme/Ballymore thread was launched by Kev on April 23 last year.

Bob Olinger was first mentioned in post number 3 the following day and he was the talk of the forum from that moment on.

            https://www.fatjockey.com/forum/fat-...e-hurdles-2021

kinloch brae also flagged up Bolinger (I'm not sure where) shortly after his ptp win last March.

And fair play to Upping The Ante's Gavin Lynch - I remember him saying he'd already seen the winner of next year's Ballymore - in an episode shortly BEFORE last year's Festival.

Yesterday I was thinking far too many of my multiples involved Bob O.

Now I'm thinking I may need to take significant amounts of valium for breakfast every day of the Festival to cope with the excitement.

Something has surely got to go wrong.

Still the dream lives on for another day. Stay in the present and if it makes us smile - then that in itself makes it all worthwhile.

            • Was Bob Olinger today more impressive than Bravemansgame in the Challow?

Beat a deeper field but visually no more impressive. I'd still have Brave as a very narrow fav personally.

Yes, and he beat better horses.
Of the ones that completed anyway.

I heard a stat that the Challow has never produced a Ballymore winner - if this is true then yes

                    • Bob Olinger vs Bravemansgame

                      is like

Sugar Ray Leonard vs Marvin Hagler.

One's definitely classier then the other.
But the other is a brute.

I'd always go for class in this race myself.

                        Bravemansgame was more impressive visually

But id say Bob ollingers form has much more depth both today and his run against ferny

                        • ....Bob Olinger as low as 7-1 (NRNB) and high as 16-1 for Bartlett. Not sure if after race interview left that door open.

Henry pretty much ruled out AB I believe before todays race, kind of narrowed it down to Supreme or Ballymore as he said BO had a good turn of speed. Can't see them moving away from Ballymore personally.

“He’s got a lot of pace as well, though. We’ll probably enter him for the three novice hurdles at Cheltenham and see nearer the time, but in my mind it will be either the Supreme or the Ballymore, as opposed to the Albert Bartlett."
