Black Hercules beaten a neck today on its return, anyone fancy it for the Foxhunters
Not at that price, and especially when iv no idea if it's the target, (poss bit of a piss take if he won the fox hunters, when Wylie gifted him back to patrick)
arctic skipper nailed him on the line, I'm sure he's expected to improve, he'll need to a good bit..

......in his latest Sporting Life column, Mark Howard suggests keeping an eye on Tedham (Pertemps Final) and Cloth Cap (Kim Muir) for the Festival. He also gives Ferny Hollow a mention as the Bumper horse he’s hoping to see this weekend.
Speaking of Wylie- he's quiet on the horses front. I know he's had a few deaths, but has he cut back even more? Anyone any word on horses he might've bought?
Didn’t know where to post this as the horse will no doubt not run at Cheltenham. Warren Greatrex talking he may not run La Bague Au Roi in the King George, on the basis that it looks a very tough race. Yes on paper it looks like one of the strongest renewals in years but he has trained her and targeted the race for quite some time. Now that there have been a couple more horses put their names in the hat he is shying away from it. He loves this horse and she clearly has loads of ability, a poor reappearance run but to dodge potentially the biggest race he would run her in because of the opposition is shocking imo. I understand the horses welfare is number one but surely that has no baring on skipping the KG because it now looks a lot harder race to win.

I wouldnt run her myself, you have to be a realist unless you want a day out. she's no chance of winning the king george. Plenty of nice pots to be won, if you place her well.

La Bague Au Roi has absolutely no chance in open company in grade 1s.
We thought she did, there was a false dawn about how strong her form was when we thought the RSA was the bee's.... but it's not, she's not, and Greatrex is right to aim lower with her.
I backed her FTO this season but was not part of the movement that fancied her for a King George.... she'd never ever beat Clan Des Obeaux would she?

She wouldn't beat CDO.
She's capable of taking scalps with a soft lead from the front over 2m4, she's imo probably around the level of what top notch has been, will fall short at the very highest level in open company, but would be a real nice horse to have.
Place her well and plenty of fun to be had.

I don’t think she would win it either but the race was always the target. Suppose its frustrating to hear he is avoiding a race he has targeted because the race now looks stronger, that was more my point. I don’t know what greatrex was expecting in opposition though. Yes 2/3 at the top of the betting have come out with huge performances but they were all more than likely to turn up so why target the race in the first place. There’s always the strongest British chasers run in the KG so he would have only needed to look at the betting to see who was likely to turn up. Occasional Irish runner granted.
Haven’t backed her either btw so it’s not a case of pocket talk in frustration haha!
