      • Saw Henderson was talking up one of his Gorgeous looking mares again. My Whirlwind.
Just a heads up from an antepost betting perspective.
I think it's time we acknowledged that his mares are not betting propositions for the novice hurdle races at the festival.
And his love for them may be more down to bestiality.
As long as it's only looking Nicky.

Not sure id agree with this backed, Epatante at 20/1 last year and she went off 15/8 also backed Apples Shak at 40/1 in Triumph who wend off 6/5. I would say these are amazing betting opportunities. The fact that they didnt win was frustrating but I wish there was more opportunities like that one. And ill defo be backing My Whirlwind, she was bought for a fortune on the back of a high class ptp win. Ive had some of the 25/1 on him. I accept that laying off isnt for everyone but these sorts are exactly the types i want to be getting involved with.

          • At this stage your looking for horses who will be a lot shorter on the day. If a Henderson trained JP McManus owned mare comes out and bolts up first time out she’s instantly going to be slashed for the Mares Novice Hurdle

I saw the Racing post headlines J.M. , and looked up Shiskin on sky horse profiles.
Probably wrong , but appears to be the same owner for Melon , who ran in the Supreme N.hdl.
so backed shiskin for that race today.

Same owner as Melon and Al Boum Photo. My initial instinct at the back end of last season was Shishkin for the Ballymore, primarily on breeding.

No more than an educated guess on my part so I could be wrong. Hendo always starts them over 2 miles so it will take a few runs to know where he’s likely to be heading. By then the price will have gone though.

                    • Yes , I will leave it be for now , Maybe add Ballymore if it look's the most likely later on.

Chantry House gets a positive mention and a nudge toward Ballymore being the option in the book I'm reading so looks like your breeding angle is the right one at the moment

My problem is that nearly my entire shortlist of novice hurdlers I have done for the Ballymore. Usually I have a more even split but across the three races but I’m stacked on the Ballymore this year. Longhouse Poet is another on that list I want on side.
