I don't place an ante post bet with the aim of cashing out. If I was convinced he'd be a Supreme horse I'd be taking the 20/1 that's available.

    • Envoi Allen surely goes Ballymore route, the others slot in around him

I posted once or twice last year but had a lot going on and didn’t really engage with the forum. Anyway, just spent the last few weeks going through the 2019 Antepost thread and it looks like virtually everyone made a few quid!!

Just thought I’d share what I have backed for 2020 so far and I will update whenever I put a bet on. You might notice that (rightly or wrongly) I tend to avoid singles and much prefer small stake multiples when hunting for the life changer!! Admittedly not a great strategy (came close in 2016 - Zubayr in the Triumph and the first Cue Card fall costing me semi-retirement) but I avoid flat racing like the plague and this keeps me going through the summer.

Huge amount of knowledge on here so I expect to be sponging tips over the coming months - here are my bets and good luck to all of you!!

Envoi Allen & Malone Road both to win 100/1 - £20 Sky

Paisley Park (SH), Altior (QM), Klassical Dream (Any race) all to win 100/1 - £20 Sky

Malone Road, Envoi Allen, Thomas Derby, Delta Work, Commander Of Fleet all to place 80/1 - £20 Sky

Draconien (Arkle) 40/1, Commander Of Fleet (RSA) 20/1, Brewin’upastorm (JLT) 25/1, Delta Work (GC) 20/1 - 33p L15 Sky *FB

Malone Road (Supreme) 16/1, Envoi Allen (Ballymore) 12/1, Altior (QM) 3/1, Paisley Park (SH) 3/1 - £3 win acca Betfred

Malone Road (Supreme) 16/1, Envoi Allen (Ballymore) 12/1, A Plus Tard (RyanAir) 20/1, Delta Work (GC) 20/1 - £1 eway L15 Betfred

Malone Road (Supreme) 16/1, Envoi Allen (Ballymore) 10/1, Minella Indo (RSA) 20/1, A Plus Tard (RyanAir) 20/1, Delta Work (GC) 20/1 - 50p eway L31 B365

        Brewin’upastorm (Arkle) 25/1, Trevelyn’s Corn (RSA) 66/1, Cilaos Emery (QM) 20/1, Samcro (JLT) 16/1, A Plus Tard (RyanAir) 20/1, Delta Work (GC) 20/1 - 35p Heinz B365

        Minella Indo (RSA) 16/1, Dynamite Dollars (QM) 33/1, A Plus Tard (RyanAir) 20/1 - £1.25 Trixie B365

Malone Road (Supreme) 16/1, Samcro (JLT) 16/1, City Island (CH) 25/1 - £1.25 Trixie B365

Just wanted to add my opinion on the RSA - great race but think TOTG was best on the day. I don’t understand the love for Santini and for me, the one to take out of it was Delta Work - should add that I am pocket talking ever so slightly!!

Oh and Tiger Roll for the GC - Discuss
Glad to hear it. The more the merrier.

I can see the appeal of small stakes for big rewards, especially this far out. Not something I do really but as you say, you'd only need one to connect, one year and you're flying.

Glad to see Minella Indo in there

Although multiples - like Kev said , you only need one and it has to happen for someone somewhere out there. As Judy said.
The selections look solid Cheltenham types and likeable
I prefer a multiple life changer nearer the day though myself
Good luck with those as they look good right now

          • Thanks for the “Hello” guys. As you both point out these multiples rarely pay off but I’m happy to part with small stakes over the summer to keep me entertained and won’t be swinging for the fences until around November-January when plans start to become a bit clearer.

            Just added the following:

Fly Smart (Supreme) 33/1, Draconien (Arkle) 40/1, Andy Dufresne (Ballymore) 20/1, Commander Of Fleet (RSA) 20/1 - 33p L15 Sky *FB

            • Added Carefully Selected @ 25/1 for the NHC.

Fancy him first & foremost for the RSA and have a good touch on at 33/1 but as Willie Mullins says he stays all day & he will be an 8 year old next season so felt it was wise to cover this option if Next Destination or another RSA got prospect come into the picture...

The target is absolutely certain. We MIGHT have City Island enter the frame, and IF The Cap Fits definitely worth noting BUT the rest will be 'failed' chasers (an over played and over bet angle) that always get over rated and there is only Big Bucks that has done that.

I can see why you've done what you've done FM. I'll give this (a lot) more thought tomorrow... will be doing my Cheltenham analysis tomorrow too.
City Island will be Stayers bound next year imo! Get on before Punchestown as I’d expect him to have plenty left in the tank after being fairly treated in the lead up to Cheltenham! Should have plenty left in the tank.

                • City Island is a great shout. Any other horses people suggest we back for Cheltenham before they run at Punchestown?

                  • Unsurprisingly I would advise getting Carefully Selected onside for the staying novice chases.

                    • What is City Islands profile? Is he likely to remain hurdling for the foreseeable future or a chaser in the making?

Early vibes from Martin & Mark suggest Stayers TKP...

20/1 at Hills any race would see the way to go with him

                          • Only placed one real cash bet so far and that was Malone Road (any race) with Hills.

I have a few free bets mounting up though.

                            Melon (any race)
                            Santini (Gold Cup)
                            Malone Road (any race)
                            Espoir D'allen (CH)
                            Samcro (any race)
                            Breaken (any race)
                            Draconien (Arkle)
                            Min (Ryanair)
                            Envoi Allen (Albert Bartlett)

I nearly have half of my total free bets from last season already staked. Definitely aiming to go this way more for the early ante post bets. Been using WH, PP & SkyBet offers. Betfair have also chucked me in a couple of freebies too.

A side note, was pleasing to see Voix Du Reve finally do what I knew he could, a sad race though as we lost Cubomania.

                            • Looks like Sky have made a ricket in pricing Gypsy Island for the Mares Novice Hurdle on the request a bets.
25/1 in this section and only 12/1 in the race market...

nb - this is quoted in the NH RAB section, not the Cheltenham RAB section

                                Nicely spotted.

I've had 1 pt win on that.

Not one to go over board on but just an obvious mistake
