I don't think any of those 3 are good enough to place. They aren't on my mind for it.



I also don't like Getaway Trump or Al Dancer - but one of them could be good enough to place at least. I'd say Al Dancer is the best horse in terms of an Arkle in this post.

Chill!! Neither was I. It’s a forum. I just calmly said that I thought it was a bit much to say it “will” have no bearing on the Festival. It probably won’t, but it might. These are horses who could easily be rated 155+ come March.

Think it was a perfectly reasonable point. I don’t think they’ll win either but I recognise I can be wrong and think it’s a bit much to say they definitely won’t, for reasons already explained.

Not sure why you’re so defensive.

It’s a forum; you yourself posted a while back about people being open to different opinions and not shooting others down...meant to be a friendly welcoming environment. Someone even posting in the vein of “you’re questioning me...” is surely a bit much too?

Maybe it’s me misreading it. It’s just every year there are races won by horses, who back in Dec, people weren’t proclaiming had much chance.

Like you, i’m sure, my book for the Arkle is lent towards Laurina and Fakir, but I also think Nube Negra and Mister Fisher could be quite progressive and could be in with a shout, although likely restricted to a place at best, buy am happy to have them on board at 50s, and am keen to watch the race as if Torpillo bolts up it massively franks Mister Fisher, and if Nube Negra wins comfortably, he’s in the frame all of a sudden.

Grand Sancy will win the damn thing now.

Only outsider from the UK side that I now like (for the Arkle) is Vision Des Flos.

Think I've made a small case for him already, but he's gone out to 50's (from 40's) since then due to a seasonal chase debut loss to Champ!!!

Since found out, he actually was found to be lame in his left hind, so along with his over keenness and that it was a fair run for me, for a trip I personally don't think is his optimum.

My opinion is that race will not affect the outcome of an Arkle.

As a young man you are able to rely upon your memory plus computer literate , the older you get ......

I’ve been a pen and paper man for years until now and I love my tracker where I’ve recorded every horse and ante post bet placed .

I use my tracker basically as a reminder for Mark Howard and Paul Ferguson’s books; if they mention specific races for a horse I stick them in etc etc
