Hello Fat Jockeys,

Upgrading the Fat Jockey forum!: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/fatjockeyforum

We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

    • Ryan97 - 9/4
    • Somer1 - 100/30
    • TigerRolllll - 4/1
    • CantCatchMe - 4/1
    • Birds Nest - 7/1
    • Dannycraigepirates - 10/1

One of the outright favs is in this group with Ryan97 undoubtedly one of the most knowledgeable posters on this site. I expect him to go a very long way in this competition. Plenty of other good posters in the group to keep the pressure on Ryan though with Somer1 expected to go well too. Only reason I’ve priced DCP so big is that I think it’s an excellent group once again and as they’ve only posted 69 times at the time of writing, the bar is high. As always, no offence is intended to anyone priced up as an outsider - this is all just a bit of fun.

    Gameweek 1 Heats:

    Birds Nest v Dannycraigpirates

    CantCatchMe v Ryan97

    TigerRolllll v Somer1

Decided to make Kev the market leader here as many maybe expected for someone with a whopping 19,713 posts and a cult following on the forum. I would’ve definitely had Ista shorter than 4s if he hadn’t already pointed out that he’s going to be strapped for time and feels that he will only be making up the numbers. If on form, Ista would certainly be shorter than 4/1. Anyhow, Kev is at 11/4 and he will probably feel that, despite it being a tough draw on paper, he will want to go far in this comp and will be baying for blood straight from the off. I can already imagine him spending the Christmas period with his head in the form book for that opening weekend at Cheltneham and Sandown. Nortonscoin200 is a very worthy challenger and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go through. Green Goddess is the third most inexperienced poster in the entire competition so is hard to price up with any conviction. Could they be a superstar in the making? We shall see..

Some very, very big priced outsiders who haven't posted much....

I'm making my own tissue prices now - this is going to take up more time than picking the horses

Horrific price MoM, I should be closer 12s.
I'm neck deep in all things NFL until Feb and will dedicate very little time to this I'm afraid, that's not to devalue the comp which I think is a great addition to the forum, I just won't be committing much time to it.

Good luck all, OW 11/2 is sneaky value here...

Don't forget the rules don't factor in price.
                    So this makes it different.

From my perspective.. if I priced you up at 12s and you go through.. I’d look like a right pillock. Though I do see your point

I’ve gone with the view that posters that we know have set a very high bar. So any new poster is therefore a big price just to be at that level. That’s the view ive taken despite many of the newbies likely to be excellent posters. The ‘unknown’ factor is my reasoning for them being big in all markets.

It’s the unknown novices going up and taking on the older horses who are proven at their level - some of which are Grade 1 standard

                            • Archie - 5/2
                            • Charlie - 14/5
                            • Lobos - 7/2
                            • OverTheLast - 7/1
                            • Jonthehammer - 7/1
                            • Penzance - 7/1

This is the group of death! What an awful draw for those in Group F. Previous competition winner Archie heads the betting with excellent posters Charlie and Lobos also in the group. The betting suggests it’s a three horse race which is very harsh on OTL, JTH and Penzance who all would be shorter in the market in any other group. They’ve simply had some bad luck. However, good tipping and they’ll show those odds to be a nonsense. With only two qualifying per group, it looks a really tough group to be in and whoever goes through will be deservingly high in the outright market. At least one of the big guns in the outright betting will be going home here as the first casualty of the competition gets taken by the dreaded group of death.

                                Group G:
                                • Jono - 11/4
                                • Quevega - 11/4
                                • Big Bucks 11/2
                                • Captain Chris - 13/2
                                • Dandrew99 - 15/2
                                • Rufus Flynn - 15/2

Two more of the big guns here as Jono and Quevega, both prominent in the outright market, come here targeting a place in the knockout stages and deep in the comp. Fancy Big Bucks to put a run together and go well here. Hard to price this group up with a lot of unknowns in here which should make for an exciting group. The group betting suggests there’s two that will be very tough to beat which is probably the case but I’m sure at least one of the newer posters will put up a real challenge. Good luck to all.
