Can you put the outright betting market in post 1 for easy reference please?

    Excellent idea Kev.

I’ll put all the betting markets on the first post in a bit. Good thinking.

Will also compile a list of people’s bets and place that in the first post top - though that’ll probably not be tonight unless my form study for tomorrow’s racing and UFC betting goes quicker than expected expected.

Keeping it at 5th of the odds since im basically ‘paying’ out for someone to get to the semi-finals.

If more than half of you make a profit in this, I’ll retire from my fake bookmaking days

You were genuinely on my shortlist Mr Pimm. Almost solely because I like your bear shirt on whatsapp, but still. You might still be in with a chance before the deadline as i'm having second thoughts on whether or not FatCatShat can be trusted in a combat situation.

I am traditionally a ‘fav’ backer, probably through the fear of losing but there are any a number of vulnerable candidates in the top 10 of the market in my humble but expert opinion, I’m happy to be sat in the double digits at the back than walking the line at the front. If you could lay any of the top 10 who would you lay??

I bought that shirt for The Chase this year. I passed everything to get on the Chase and got through and wore that shirt to the interview in Cardiff in September 2019.....then Covid happened and I’ve heard nothing from ITV since!!!! I think the boat has now sailed without because I was on the short list for Season 14 which is now being broadcast on ITV. They are not socially distancing on season 14 but I’m guessing they cracked on without me and my amazing shirt.

I remember on the day being sat next to a gentleman on my interview team who was the co owner of the Tom Symonds horse ‘Royal Claret’. A very interesting gentleman and I bet Royal Claret at Hereford a few months after and won on him. I would have preferred to have gone on the Chase and took the minus figure and won a chunk of some smart arses cash builder but it never happened.....it’s a great shirt though

That has to be the ultimate wet glove across the face moment.......just imagine Kevloaf getting laid
edit.....I’m not doubting your sexual prowess for a second here Kev but just the greatest insult of all which is having someone ‘lay’ you off

Despicable behaviour and would result in a forum ban I would hope akin to a non trier in a small field graded race to pick up a few bob

                      • Hahaha TKP, I hadn't read your post....good question....

I reckon I can make a strong case to lay all the top 10 (I love you all - just a bit of fun)
                        • Faugheen_Machine - 7/1
                        • Scooby - 8/1
                        • Kevloaf - 9/1
                        • Ryan97 - 9/1
                        • Spectre - 10/1
                        • ComplyOrDie - 11/1
                        • archie - 11/1
                        • Jono - 12/1
                        • Quevega - 14/1
                        • Charlie - 14/1

I'd have to lay Faugheen_Machine just because he's fav - one of the best tippers on here absolutely no doubt at all...but I've seen him bang on about Al Dancer long enough for me to press the pink lay button. Faugheen_Machine

Scooby isn't favoured by the format of this, he's really selective, some days having no bets and whilst he is who I'd have priced up fav, his eye may be off the ball as he focussed on his own stuff! Plus he'll probably be banging on about some french donkey at a course no-one has heard of. Scooby91

Kevloaf - I'm an easy lay here... I am very ante-post focussed, I like to have more than one horse in a race in almost every circumstance and am now very selective too in my normal betting, long gone are the days I bother trying to find a bet in every race. I can see why I've been priced shortish but that's because I've posted so much that I'm bound to have hit a few good tips along the way - broken clock right twice a day etc.

Ryan97 - At a big price I'd have considered this little legend, but personally feel the bookie has over factored longevity over tipping prowess. Also, with my ego I'd have to back myself in the match bet, and as I consider myself a lay, Ryan has to be by default haha. ryanh97

Spectre - Very dangerous, bookies have priced him shortest of the newcomers by a country mile. Reasons to lay? He's backed every single horse running at Cheltenham, will he be as good picking just one? (The answers yes, shit! haha) - a huge danger, hard to make a strong lay case other than there being some good value outside the top 10 in the betting. Spectre

CoD - Couldn't pick his nose without help. Haha, - Seriously, I'd lay for similar reasons to me, loves to back more than one in a race... has had some very good tips over the years but also like me that's bound to happen due to number of posts/cases made. Therefore, lay lady lay. ComplyOrDie

Archie - Very knowledgable, but a lay as somebody who has actively mentioned before that he doesn't bet often or reguarly. At a big price I'd have very much fancied but inside the top 10 I think we can get him beat. archie

Jono - Doesn't deserve to be in the compeition. A proper chancer. Massive Lay! - For anyone new, I'm just kidding, Jono is absolutely top class and in my opinion one of (if not the) best contributor on the site (when he bothers to get involved). However, as mentioned before, Jono and I once met up and went to the races and genuinely didn't pick a winner after working on the card together.... so lay the ears off us both jono

Quevega - Not an easy lay relative to the rest of the top 10 either... actually underestimated probably due to quality tips getting lost between jokes about porn, ranging from bukake to Brandy Love . Takes the day-to-day punting more seriously than people realise in terms of stake relative to Cheltenham too, and has a good record in both. Actually struggling to come up with any valid reasons, so well just lay him because we have to. What a back- handed compliment this post is Q Quevega

Charlie - Usually, and historically, a very well reasoned and respectful poster...but I reckon you can get in his head. I've seen him get riled recently. Susceptible to mind games... - Very solid option in the top 10 again, but along with others, number of posts and longevity perhaps been factored in by the bookies and may be value elsewhere. charlie

Shame we aren't including the 16/1's - I'd have had fun there with Istabraq , Lobos and somer1

                        • I have always fantasised (I mean that in the dream achievement sense and not the sexual sense) that if I ever did get on the Chase I would position myself last in the team and criticise and mock all the other contestants for being weak and not going big in the hope they got home with a credible amount of money and then when it was my turn taking the minus offer after a dreadful cash builder of ?1000. Then in the final Chase contributing nothing in the final Chase and going mental celebrating when we won and I taking a huge slice of their well deserved winnings. I’ve spent hours running though this plot, pretending to be interviewed by Bradley and taunting The Beast. It’s the ultimate pantomime move and I know I would ruin the week of fans of The Chase if not months but I know if I lived my life 100 times over it would be the best move. When people talk about dreams, apart from shagging Carol Voderman at the back of the Best Mate stand on a cold Thursday afternoon in March at Prestbury Park my next best fantasy is doing a massive ‘Fergie’ celebration after winning the Final Chase knowing I took the minus offer and contributed absolutely nothing to the teams effort, I have found myself howling in laughter seeing the other team members struggle to celebrate with me after I took ?5000 from their prize money fund and not answering a single question correctly. I think of the days that follow and the resentment they hold towards me. ......maybe that’s why I’m still waiting each day in my fancy shirt for a phone call from ITV!!!!

It’s not massively relevant as I obviously can’t be betting on my own prices but fwiw.. my actual tip for the competition would be Spectre.

I’d have fancied Charlie to go very close too but he’s got an absolute sh**ter of a draw to navigate.
