Well, I'm always open to feedback so have took what they've said on board.
And decided to put my selections up 2 nights before.
      In your Face.

      Good luck

......I’m one of the losers!!! I didn’t offer any feedback or advice in my defence but crawled back under my cold stone with puffed cheeks to cry the night away on my own

Boom, rip up the rule book and enter the ring first as the Champ and catch the crowd cold!! I like your confidence Quevega

I was hoping this semi final would deteriorate into a proper grudge match with some full on trash talking!!

My money from the start has been in Big C but this will be a nip and tuck contest. I do think the winner of this semi final wins the comp though. Choose wisely Brother BC, drink from the right up cup (insert scene from Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade)

                  Great minds etc....haha.

In the last 3 years at the DRF the favourites have won those four races on every occasion bar one - when the fav was second.

Difficult to get away from those four - unless you think you can get one or more of them beat Kev.

Haha, well as you know all too well, I'm dumped out.... Kilcruit I'd have beat though, don't think he's a solid fav. Chemical Energy for me.

Honeysuckle I'm amazed everyone has gone for.... what price would Darver Star be this year? I hope it's Saint Roi or Aba but I'd have gone Sharjah as the most solid!

CPS is obvious, no chance I'd have done against him.

Energumene, again pretty solid... I wouldn't have gone against I don't think.

......................but I got walloped.....so what do I know

                        SEMI-FINAL FORM GUIDE

BIG CHAANG (By KevinKeeganSays out of Sleepless in Sha Tin)

Excitable gelding - can get very worked up in the preliminaries . Box walker who suffers from insomnia. Trainer put snooker legend Steve "Interesting" Davis in his stable to try to calm him down. Experiment failed after Davis was carried unconscious from the stable with 147 kicks and bites to the body. Recovered from a disastrous start to rack up 6 wins in a row. Got up late to win his QF by a short-head. Experienced at this level and seems to be running into form at right time.. Maajor chaance. Original odds 18-1

                        QF: 15W
                        R16: 18W

QUEVEGA (By Mind Games out of Heart of Gold)

Feisty unbeaten mare with a big reputation (closely related to Succinct Put-Downs out of Bark's Worse Than Bite). Took a while to get going and only ever does just enough. Can be headstrong but battles well and starting to repay expensive price tag. Well fancied at 14-1 ante-post but will need to step up a level to beat Big Chaang who would have won their last six head-to-heads. Suggestion that an end-to-end gallop at this level may bring about significant improvement.

                        QF: 12W
                        R16: 11D (pens)

RYANH97 (By Ryan Giggs out of Meg Ryan)

Impeccably bred and pacy good looking colt (closely related to His Brother's Missus). Due to be gelded at the end of the season after playing up/away on occasions. Joint third favourite at 9-1 pre tournament and justified market confidence with some high quality consistent performances. Highest rating of the semi-finalists on 140 (NC 136, BC 130, Q 114) and sure to go well. Likely favourite for the title. Trainer Puter Whizz said: "He' had a few free spins last week just to keep him ticking over and his Hex Code and HTML Entity both look perfect - he's the IT guru to screw you."

NORTONSCOIN200 (By Verbal Diarrhoea out of Talking Bollocks)

Had a long-winded operation before Christmas but it failed to cure the problem. The veteran selling plater has had a good season stepping up in class despite being too closely related to Janidil and Beacon Edge. Remains to be seen if he can compete in this company. Lucky short-head win last time after jockey gave up and dismounted coming to the last. Trainer Ivan Gotta-Clue said: "If he runs like f***** Janidil or that b****** Beacon Edge he won't have a f****** prayer." A 22-1 shot originally, likely outsider.

Totally agree on Kilcruit and Honeysuckle - reckon Gaillard Du Mesnil is an awful price too.

I just didn't want to give Ryan a free tap in and hoped that by posting first he'd take me on in one/maybe more of those races. Trouble is he's too smart.

For what it's worth my bets of the day are Ashdale Bob - surprised he's not shorter than 10-1 and Eclair De Beaufeu at 33-1 (6 places).

He won the Matheson here a year ago and in 2019 he was a 3 length 4th in this off 130. Today he runs off 135 (1lb lower than when he tipped up at the last in the County just 4 months after his first hurdle race).

This 7lb claimer amateur jockey Mr J C Gainford that Gordon has booked is also interesting. He's also on Braeside and Daylight Katie for Gordon tomorrow so either the God Of Handicaps is fishing for a lower mark on these 3 or he's seen something in this guy that he likes.

Remember Capodanno's disappointing first run a couple of months ago?

Who was on board the 40-1 shot who won that day? Answer: Mr J C Gainford.

So Ashdale Bob and Eclair De Beaufeu would form the basis of my each way yankee.

This probably proves I'd be useless as a yankee captain - besides being totally insufferable, power corrupts etc - so I ccouldn't complain if you ruled me out as a contender right now on the grounds of incompetence.

Good luck with your squad - hope they sparkle this weekend.

That'd be more winners than we've had in previous Yankees Kev

Got to play it tactical at this point Kev. 7 race competition becomes 2
